Bournemouth Carlton Hotel By Sunday

Disabled parking to front of hotel and size of room was what we expected.

Understaffed...long wait time at bar , chaos at breakfast as a result of large coach numbers. Had to set table ourselves after finding cutlery, limited choice of breakfast ...no milk due to non delivery. Our second day again long wait at bar to be served and request for poached eggs for breakfast not sent to kitchen....waited 30 mins in total before eventually arriving following speaking to second member of staff. Sadly we will never return to this hotel and it was definitely overpriced for the experience and service...Premier Inn is far superior.....disappointed and spoilt our weekend away !

We liked the sea views. Ben and Corey were very welcoming and friendly. The food was good. We love the proximity of the bus stops.

Our room was cold and the radiators didn’t work. Some of the staff were not as friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping was poor having to book it every day, chasing it up and the servicing incomplete. The hotel was full of coach parties who had first choice of evening dinner times meaning we had to choose to eat very early or late. When we did eat some items were unavailable. Finally, the whole hotel is in need of decorating both inside and out. Other things also need updating for example teapots with no handle on the lid.

It is a beautiful old hotel and the room was massive. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It’s a tired hotel and requires a lot of work. We had a shower over the bath which measured 60cm or 2 feet high. My husband was unable to get over the bath to get a shower and was unable to wash! We asked for a room with a walk in shower, but they only have 3, which were all taken ! The food in the restaurant was mediocre, so we went out into town to eat. Price of drinks was extortionate £17.00 for a glass of wine and a pint of Guinness.

The maintenance guy came to show us how to turn the shower on as it was very stiff. He was very helpful. Location very good. The pools and sauna were good.

On asking about where the room was, I was told the second floor. However, the room was in between the first and second floor and I had to go up from the first floor or down from the second floor with 2 heavy suitcases. No help was offered to me even when I asked where the lift was. We stayed for 2 nights and no-one came to clean the room after one night. The drawers were not clean and the bathroom had dirt and dust round the window frames and on the walls. When we booked we were not told that parking was not included, just parking available. Thought £20 a night excessive.

Claramente, el hotel necesita algunas mejoras, tanto en las instalaciones generales como en las habitaciones. En nuestra habitación no había prácticamente presión de agua en las ducha, lo que hacía casi imposible ducharse y menos aún lavarse el cabello. Los desconchados de pintura y manchas de humedad están omnipresentes.

The swimming pool was ok

The hotel was completely misrepresented on booking.com. firstly it was listed as 4 star when in fact it is a 3 star hotel. Be hotel is very old and neglected, the are holes in the ceiling, no usb ports to charge mobile devices. The photos are nothing like the actual property condition. Th room, furniture and bathroom. Is very dated and in poor condition. The carpet in our bedroom had a suspicious stain on it. When we arrived at our room, tbe bathroom was still dirty with hair left in the bath and the shampoo and shower gel containers were empty! Tbe shower did kot work as expected and we had to wait 5 hours before someone came to look at it. The most frustrating thing was that O wanted to make a few arrangements for my birthday but this hotel does not have a front desk that you can phone prior to your arrival. I asked bookin.com for help and it was a difficult and long process being passed from 3rd party agent to agent to eventually being told sorry I can't be helped as it is a self servicing hotel. If booking.com made this clear on their listing I would NEVER have booked this hotel for my birthday. I was completely deceived by this rating, standard of the hotel and a utter disappointment for my birthday weekend. Booking.com should rallally refund me for a complete fraudulent sell as the photos on their website is not a representation of what this hotel is in reality.
