The owner of the place is super nice. He explained to us the life in the floating island and took good care. He is also an amazing cook!

It was an authentic experience of local life on the Uros floating island. Owner was very helpful and i used his kayak for 2 hours and paddled around the area. Breakfast was fine and served by the daughter- a real family affair

Nothing i enjoyed it all

We had a really great experience staying with Nicanor and his family. Nicanor is really punctual and ensured everything ran like clockwork from picking us up at Kalaparja port (20 soles each way), taking us on a tour of Uros islands (65 soles for two people from memory I believe) and cooking us dinner (25 soles each). The room was really comfortable with plenty of warm blankets and a heater. The shower was also nice and hot. They sell beer, wine water etc for reasonable prices (15 soles for a big beer). The family was lovely. Breakfast was really tasty too. We didn't find it as cold as everyone else is complaining about. We were nice and toasty in bed. As if that's something that the host can control anyway. Do your research and bring appropriate clothing! Thank you for having us! :)

Can't complain about anything considering the price.

It was adventure to sleep on a floating island and the owner was very helpful - showed us the islands, made dinner and helped to book our next travels to Canyon Colca.

The island is really cute and the fact that the whole family lives there makes the experience quite special

Not really sure how this place got all these good reviews. Communication with the owner was very difficult, pick up situation got really confusing because of that. As we got to the island we got sold the “day tour” for 100 soles which only included the Taquile island. Unlike any other tours you can book on the main land. Instead the owner wanted another 30 soles per person to show us around the islands as a “special tour”. Took us a while to convince him to take us on that tour without charging extra as we were quite upset with the situation. Next day we were about to pay and he wanted to charge us for the pick up 20 soles per person each way. Just a reminder that it said on booking the shuttle was free. All in all very frustrating and kinda ruined the calming and peaceful experience it should have been

Very unique experience ! The host was amazing, he arranged everything for us

Very special experience, off grid accommodation at a floating island. Nicanor was nice and welcoming, our and his kids played together, we could use the kitchen (we expected a barbecue that was advertised and actually wasn't there). The breakfast was rich and very tasty. The room was nice and comfortable. We also forgot a cap and Nicanor took it to the port the other day, thank you!

The shower didn't work during our stay. Also be aware that boat transportation to the island (there's no other way to get there) is not included.
