Uros Lodge Lover

Really helpful and accommodating host - he was always on hand when we needed - and his family are reslly friendly too. Delicious home cooked food in the restaurant as well. The accommodation itself is fairly basic but you’re there for the experience of the islands - it's incredible for star gazing at night.

The room could do with a few more (and better) curtains as we were woken up at 5am each morning with the sun pounding down through the windows.

Additional fee boat 20 sol one way You don’t have anything to do except for joining tour. Taquile island tour is 100 sol. It must be a bit more expensive than applying in Puno.

I loved how there was a little store and everything was built on trust- made me feel very good :)

The whole family was super nice and helpful. They pick you up/drop you at the port, offer their own tours around the Uros and help organise tours to the other islands. Different options for meals (including vegetarian), quite good and at a good price. Hot beverages for free. Plenty of blankets to cope with the cold at night.

Unique experience!

Nicanor and his family were so inviting! They communicated well with us ahead of time with the location of pickup for their water taxi service. We met them at a dock, they loaded our luggage and away we went to their floating island. We had a huge room with one kingsize bed and three queen sized beds! They told us to choose anyone we wanted. The room also had large windows with a lake view and a balcony with chairs overlooking the water. The family made us tea, hot chocolate and coffee in their little restaurant, and a fabulous supper! The little boy showed me how to use every toy in the gift shop. We had pre-booked our tours before arriving, and Nicanor went above and beyond with our company to have us picked up at his island instead of waking up early going back to Puno, and than right back out to Uros again.

there was no shower-okay for our one night, but not for an extended stay. It looks like it is in the works being built though
