Review We had an absolutely fantastic time at this homestay on Komodo Island. We arranged our 3 night 2 day tours directly with the homestay and I cannot fault it. The communication was excellent both prior to and on the trip. We had amazing home cooked breakfasts lunches and dinners all included in the tour price. So much delicious food that we could not finish it all. If you want to see outstanding wildlife, beautiful islands and beaches, experience local life for longer this stay and the tours they can provide are a must. We really felt looked after and had one of the best experiences on our South East Asia trip. The real bonus is that our guide knew all the best places to snorkel so that we could see manta rays, turtles and baby sharks, while our host at the homestay took us on an early morning trek right from the accommodation so we could meet some dragons. We even saw one from our balcony. Staying on the island really gives the best opportunity to see Komodo dragons and enjoy the amazingly friendly locals.

А ещё эти удивительные животные сами приходят к дому — их можно наблюдать с балкона ранним утром или ночью, и это просто восторг! Природа Комодо непередаваема. Манты, акулы, черепахи, дельфины, невероятные коралловые рифы — наш гид Ари и капитан Саржан сделали всё, чтобы мы прочувствовали каждый момент и увидели всех обитателей невероятного подводного мира. Мы очень рады, что познакомились с вами. Огромное спасибо за эти потрясающие дни — вы делаете своё дело с душой, и это чувствуется в каждой мелочи. Our stay at this beautiful property in Komodo was absolutely unforgettable. Na het boeken vroeg de eigenaar of wij een 4-daagse tour wilden doen. Dat was precies wat we wilden. Alles was goed geregeld, we werden opgehaald vanaf de haven in Bajo en met de boot. Daar ontmoetten we Bahari, onze gids die de komende dagen met ons op pad ging. De eigenaar is zijn broer. De boot is authentiek en ietwat luid, maar hier wen je snel aan. Onderweg zijn we op drie plekken wezen snorkelen, hier was geweldig koraal en we hebben schildpadden en een manta rog gezien. Bahari is een zeer goede zwemmer en kan diep duiken, hij heeft voor ons mooie beelden gemaakt met mijn GoPro. Het dorp op Komodo island is zoals veel kampoengs in Indonesië: het heeft zijn charmes, maar de infrastructuur en het afvalbeleid laat te wensen over. De meeste mensen zijn vrij arm en moeten van de toeristen en visserij leven. De homestay zelf is netjes en schoon. Beschikt over een toiletpot en douche, en we konden water, koffie en thee pakken. In de slaapverblijven hangt een ventilator. Er zit geen plafond in de ruimtes, waardoor het buitenleven zo naar binnen kan zoals salamanders enzo. We zijn echter praktisch geen insecten. Het eten dat de eigenaresse maakt is heerlijk, verse vis en garnalen waren onze favoriet. Dag twee gingen we naar padar island, dit werd overspoeld door Chinezen, maar het uitzicht is wel echt mooi. Wel een goede klim met 800 treden tellende trap. Daarna zijn we wezen snorkelen bij Pink beach. Toen voeren we naar Loh Liang beach om de draken te zien. We hebben er 3 gezien, maar je kon zien dat hier erg op de toeristen wordt ingespeeld. Er ligt een enorme aanlegsteiger, gelukkig waren wij zowat de enige. Maar vanuit het dorp is het mooier. Dag drie beginnen we met vanuit het dorp het bos in te lopen waar we wel 10 varanen gezien hebben. Dit is een mooiere route. Daarna zijn we naar een stroomversnelling in zee gevaren om hier op een rustig plekje rond te dobberen en de lunch te eten.

Możliwość zakwaterowania u lokalnej rodziny w jedynej wiosce na wyspie Komodo. To było dla nas fantastyczne doświadczenie - piękne w swojej prostocie. Gospodarze są przemili, pani domu przygotowuje pyszne i obfite posiłki. Gospodarz za dodatkową opłatą zorganizował dla nas 3 dni pełne atrakcji, do których docieraliśmy prywatną łódzką. Bardzo polecamy, naprawdę warto!

Per il tour il soggiorno meriterebbe un bel 10. Organizzato benissimo puntuale nel pick up e flessibilie. All'inizio non avevamo visto le mante al manta point ma ci hanno permesso di avvistarle al ritorno. Il capitano della barca molto gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo visto i draghi effettuando un giro anche un po' più lungo. Fermandosi nella homestay del villaggio si aiuta di più l'economia del villaggio e si ha un' idea della vita locale. Cucina buonissima complimenti alla moglie di Jahidin.

L'abitazione è molto pulita, bisogna tenere presente che lo stile di vita è semplice ma spartano e richiede un minimo di adattamento. Nel complesso il prezzo del tour e dell'alloggio è un po' troppo elevato altrimenti sarebbe un bel 10.

Bahari (our amazing tour guide and camera man), Sargen (our brilliant captain) and Jahiding and wife (host and first class cook) made this an unbelievable experience ! Be aware that the accommodation is very basic and I recommend taking earplugs (also for the boat), but once you settle down and get absorbed into the village life, the adventure begins and a different world opens. The wifi is almost nonexistent but after a while you can accept it as it is and relax. FB and instagram will wait for you … Our trip started at the harbor when we were warmly greeted by the ever smiling Bahari. After a 1,5 hour trip we arrived at our first snorkeling point and in the course of getting to the homestay, we visited 3 absolutely amazing snorkeling places where we saw at least 20+ beautiful turtles and such an abundance of other fish and corals. This continued the next two days and highlight were seeing so many Komodo dragons, being surrounded by hundreds of dolphins and of course the people we met on the tours. The whole trip may be expensive, but work out what 3 meals a day, a private guide and a private boat, entrance to the park etc etc … will cost, then the amount you pay is worth it, trust me. Would I do it again…damn right I would.
