The hotel has a fantastic location. We walked there with our backpacks, as the horses made a very sad impression on us. In the surrounding area, there are several small markets, restaurants, beach bars, and Cafés. You can swim at the hotel beach until around mid, after that, the tide goes out and the water recedes completely until the evening. The staff - especially Rin - were incredibly kind, always friendly, and very attentive. In the evenings, we were delighted by the fresh fish, which you can choose yourself and breakfast was excellent every single day. The pool was clean and the rooms, just as shown in the pictures, were simple but stylish in boho design. We would definitely come back 🙂

There is really nothing to criticize, but if there would be one thing to improve, we would recommend adding a few coat hooks or a clothes rack in the room, as we felt there was a lack of storage space. Otherwise, everything was excellent!

We stayed here while celebrating two very special occasions — my birthday and our engagement. The hotel was clean throughout our stay, and the staff were always polite and friendly. The location was convenient for exploring the island, and Gili Air itself is undeniably beautiful, with crystal-clear water, turtles, great snorkelling and stunning sunsets. We also enjoyed discovering the many local cafes, seafood BBQ restaurants and snorkelling spots around the island, which ultimately became the highlight of our trip.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself was disappointing in several areas. While Gili Air is often promoted as a chilled, romantic island, this property is located in one of the busiest and noisiest parts of the island. On one evening, a nearby bar hosted a party with loud music that continued until around 3am, making sleep almost impossible. The room was clean but fairly average for the price. The mattress was by far the biggest issue. It was so uncomfortable that my partner eventually resorted to sleeping on a pool lounge cushion on the floor because he simply could not sleep in the bed. The toilet seat also did not fit the toilet properly, which made it uncomfortable to use and gave the room a somewhat unfinished feel. Housekeeping was also frustrating. Rather than simply servicing the room while guests were out for the day, we received daily messages asking whether we wanted the room cleaned. On multiple occasions we replied confirming that we did, only to return later and find the room had not been serviced at all. The restaurant was another major disappointment. Breakfast was included, but after a couple of mornings we chose to eat elsewhere because the food quality was significantly better in town. The service was consistently slow, and breakfast was among the poorest we experienced during our time in Indonesia. We also booked several services through the hotel, including bike hire, GoPro hire, a private snorkelling trip and a massage. Unfortunately, we would not recommend any of them. The GoPro did not work properly, the bikes were poor quality and unreliable, and the massage was one of the worst we have ever had despite specifically requesting a firm treatment. Most disappointing was that my partner had arranged a very special birthday surprise and proposal through the hotel, followed by snorkelling and a massage. While the proposal itself was magical, the activities organised by the hotel fell well short of expectations.
