Forthay Bed and Breakfast

Location was good bed was like a marshmallow but not in a good way no support at all we used a pillow rack under our backs to get a small amount of support, no lock on the room door our bathroom down the hallway, very difficult to close the bathroom door as old and twisted outside the bathroom window someone on the next property put a sprayed rude word obviously there had need some sort of issue with the neighbour maybe put something opaque on the glass then no one would see it, on the breakfast table there were two small pots with sauce in they had been there for a few days as they had a leather like top on them the water and milk in the bedroom were metal sports like bottles and inside the kettle there was a thumb size black mark I don’t know if it was mould or something else (we will not be recommending this b&b to anyone else

Our stay at the Forthay was wonderful. We loved getting to hang out in the snug with Humphrey the cat, and our host Charles made sure to give us local recommendations--don't miss the Black Horse Inn for dinner! The room was very comfortable and cozy, and breakfast was delicious.

We wish we could have met the dogs!

Loved the history of this lovely home! Charles and his wife were excellent hosts who made sure we were taken care of. 10 starts to Humphrey the cat, who snuggles with guests and has the best purr.

The Breakfast was good. A nice historic house.

Dogs had been sleeping on the bed linen which required changing and the house smelt of dogs.Dead flies on the window ledge at the breakfast table were unpleasant.
