Lovely surroundings and beautifully designed. A bonus to have a second location nearby on the lovely lagoon. The food was also excellent.

Diese Unterkunft ist ein Kunstwerk, die Liebe zu Detail im Bau, der Umstand dass es sich perfekt in den Dschungel anpasst und trotzdem überall extrem sauber und gepflegt anfühlt hat war erstaunlich. Wir sind einen ganzen Tag nur auf dem Gelände herumgelaufen und haben die kleinen und großen Details bestaunt. Wir haben uns gefühlt wie in einem geheimen Paradies das mit unglaublich viel Aufmerksamkeit und Achtsamkeit erschaffen wurde. Hut ab. Das Personal war unendlich freundlich.

Ich hätte mir gewünscht, besser darauf geachtet zu haben, dass das Hotel nicht direkt an der Lagune liegt, sondern eine kurze Fahrradfahrt entfernt ist. An der Lagune selbst hat das Hotel einen eigenen Zugang. Des weiteren hatten wir kein Auto gemietet, und waren somit darauf angewiesen, alle Speisen im Hotel einzunehmen. Das Essen war gut, aber sehr teuer. Das Frühstück, inkludiert im Zimmerpreis fiel sehr mager aus, so dass wir auch zum Frühstück immer etwas dazu kaufen mussten. Insgesamt haben wir als Paar fast den Zimmerpreis pro Tag nochmal für Essen gezahlt. Ein Buffet zum Frühstück hätte unseren Aufenthalt unglaublich aufgewertet.

Good things: - the 3 (!) staff members we met are super nice - we could change our breakfast to a sandwich - the lagoon is beautiful and it is nice to take the kayaks - the hotel is gorgeous

Definitely would NOT recommend this hotel. The price you pay and what you get in the end stands in no relation. The hotel itself is beautiful, but many things made our stay unpleasent: - You have to pay a deposit of 2000 MXN per night EXTRA, which was actually deducted from our account. After it was referred back to us (after 5 days, although we we're told 24h), we actually got 860 Pesos (40€) less in our currency ! Adjustment: The hotel blames us for this mistake and refuses to solve this. - mostly no wifi in the room! - Everything has a fine which you have to sign for, so you feel like an intruder and not a guest - There was basically no staff anywhere so you have to search the whole hotel for anything you may want to ask/need - The bathroom and toilet are 'outside', so you're mosquito food - There are no mosquito nets in the remaining room, so no fresh air if you want to keep the mosquitos out (and there are a lot!) - Our toilet paper, mosquito spray and other amenities were not restocked after cleaning our room - The breakfast is only sugar, coffee tastes horrible - We ordered lunch once - the burger bread was stone hard Some of these things were pointed out by other guests before, so it seems to be persisting problems.

Posto superlativo! Lontano dal centro di Bacalar, ubicato in una zona poco battuta della laguna. Diciamo che è un'esperienza da fare se amate dormire nella giungla, non volete avere confusione intorno e amate il lusso. In macchina, il centro di Bacalar dista 10/15 minuti se volete uscire. Tutta la struttura è immersa in un giardino da sogno e la camera, con piscinetta privata, è andata oltre le aspettative. Buona colazione e cucina meravigliosa con uno chef bravissimo Elias. L'hotel dispone di un pontile meraviglioso a cui potete andare in macchina o farvi accompagnare.

This hotel has everything to get a 10/10. The location in the jungle, the fantastic architecture of the lodges, the tasteful SPA, yoga centre, Aluxes symbols, the birds when you wake up, our favourite staff member Gabriel, the magical lightning in the evening, the excellent food and the great location at the lake (5 min drive which they do for you)

So why not a 10/10. This has everything to do with the unclarity of invoicing. A few examples 1) We had to pay 10 usd per person per day for unknown reasons because all vat, city taxes, etc. were already paid. When I asked for an explanation, they were extremely unclear and changed the story multiple times 2) No drinking price list, so you never knew in advance what the price of the drinks would be 3) Although breakfast was included, they refused to give us a small breakfast package because we had to leave at 8 and they were only serving breakfast at 9 am. I repeat, everything is great at this place, a bit more customer intimacy and clarity will make this a wonderful place
