Spice Forest Plantation Homestay, Thekkady

Room was very big, clean and very comfortable with large balcony with wonderful view. Set in an amazing location. So peaceful. The treehouse was just lovely for sitting and enjoying the views. It’s a bumpy old ride for a mile up to the homestay bit made it even more rustic. It was also made a lovely early morning walk. A special shout out to Arji who was extremely helpful and friendly😄

The place is spectacular if you are looking to be in nature. The accommodation is located within a cardamom plantation, which we visited thanks to the staff. The homestay also has a tower room with amazing views to a lake and the Mountains for a unique sunset view. The room was spotless and high quality material and a comfortable bed. In addition the staff were helpful to arrange a visit to Periyar tiger reserve.

It is tricky to find the place from the main road and our taxi driver struggled to reach the property. After checkout a taxi was arranged by the staff, which was a bit expensive but a really comfortable car.

Everything: the gorgeous location, sounds of water and jungle…

The guest was very accomodating and allowed us to check out late (2:30pm). They offered us freshly brewed local tea with mint leaves. It was delicious. The room has a big balcony that looks out on the jungle and a small lake.

Reaching requires driving off road, but the view from the road is worth it.

The Homestay is in a very beautiful and remote location. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of birds and sitting on our balcony reading books. The Homestay provides homely food to order which was good

The Homestay is difficult to find and the road is steep and rough at times (gravel). Could use larger signs especially for the last part of the road.

Everything. Big room. Comfortable. Welcome staff. Peacefully. Middle of the nature. Because of the road up to the hill i recommend to stay 2 nights.

The road to the hotel is a little bit challenging. About 20 minutes from the city.

Everything was great, we asked them to make us a dinner with no chili and the food was delicious! The view is outstanding and you feel so in peace there drinking your tea in their beautiful terrace. We had the chance to visit their cardamom and coffee plantation and we had a really great time. Breakfast too was delicious and included in the price, the room was huge and spotless, definitely recommend!
