The building was charming, the location peaceful, the staff friendly and efficient, the bedroom comfortable and well decorated and the food very enjoyable

The short flight of stairs to the upstairs bedroom had to be talen carefully because they were narrow and quite steep for an 80 year old like me. However, there were pleanty hand rails to hang on to and the lady of the house very kindly offered to take our suitcase up for us, which I thought was most considerate.

This is such a lovely place in a super location the breakfast and evening dinner were just lovely The staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. Would we go again absolutely we would.

Just needs a small shelf in our bathroom a minor detail but would make a big difference.

Beautiful little pub & hotel in a quiet village, off the beaten track. The staff at the Cartwheel were very friendly and welcoming, accommodating my special requests with kindness and grace. The bed was comfortable and the room was thoughtfully kitted out with anything you might need. Very good and generous breakfast. I arrived too late to try the dinner at the small pub restaurant, but it seems to be extremely popular! Booking ahead is definitely recommended for lunch or dinner.

Very friendly staff, and excellent food

The food was exceptional, especially for the prices (we only had time for an evening meal and breakfast). Spacious accommodation with well-thought out attention to every detail and more. Super comfy bed and all so clean. Really friendly family feel among the staff and owners who were discreet but welcoming at the same time. A real hidden gem we weren't expecting. We will definitely be back!
