STARFISH LUXURY APARTMENT BEACH II

The location was perfect. The apartment was more like a small efficiency. Everything was very small. We found 2 roaches in our room, and when we contacted the owner he blamed it on us.

The owners were very nice and helpful, great hospitality. The APT was clean and well maintained. The beds were nice and the bathroom was nice as well.

The A/C was not good and it was very hot .

The accommodation was good value for the money and well located in Isla Verde. The room was a good size with two full beds, a kitchen, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was okay. There were supermarkets, pharmacies, and beach apparel stores very close by. There were plenty of food options available. I especially enjoyed the nearby restaurant Corchea, which offered the best meal during our 1-week stay in Puerto Rico. They had great music (Latin jazz) and good cocktails.

Due to the photos, I expected a nicer condo, but it wasn't too bad. We faced a serious issue. One evening, we returned to the accomodation after spending the day touring and found that there was no water. We called the apartment owner, and he responded that there was nothing he could do about it because water is a utility that depends on the island government (!). More than an hour later, he appeared knocking at the door and said the issue was a failure in the water pump engine and that he would attempt to fix it. We stayed up until midnight while he unsuccessfully tried to fix the issue. He woke us up early the next morning and finally fixed the problem. It's clear that he is new to the hospitality business and needs to learn how to treat customers politely and anticipate problems, as well as how to solve them quickly.

Area was great! Close to the beach and next to a Walgreens that we visited every day.

The only thing that was uncomfortable was losing power for about 6 hours the first night. Which may have been recovering from Hurricane.

Good price?

No hot water considering it says “luxury” you’d think it would have hot water. Low water pressure in general for the shower. Had an ant problem and the owners solution was to have my use the cleaner and spray the floor myself and having a cleaner come the next day. Note I had no food in the room the entire stay and this happened day 3 of me being there. Location isn’t the greatest nor is the communication with property owner if you do not speak Spanish. Pay the extra money and go elsewhere

Shower water very weak and cold

Inexpensive great for one night stay ,pool was awesome. Had a coffee maker you would need . Had essentials, microwave, little refrigerator, very clean . walking distance to lots of places to eat and beach.

There were quite a few stairs, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker .

Location and AC Responsive and Courteous host

Water pressure was terrible, and bathroom was super tiny.

This place messed up my whole trip. We got there around 8pm and checked into our room and all. It was very hot in the room and the AC took about few hours to cool down the room. We took a shower the first night together because the water pressure was very low in the shower and we went to bed. We woke up the next morning and there wasn’t any water at all. We were unable to flush the toilet or take a shower that morning before going to out morning activity. I contacted the owner and i told him and he apologized.He told us he will have so one come check it out. I said okay that’s fine and we left to our activities for the day. We were out for roughly from 8:30am till 7:45pm. We came back to the room still no water. I text the owner again and apologized once more and asked me if i would wait 30mins more for the water. By that time i was pissed, because i was hot and sweaty from the activities during the day. We had purchased a case of bottled water and we had to use those to take a damn shower and brushed out teeth. We went to bed because we were exhausted. The next arrived day number two still no water and i texted the owner once more trying to be patient with him. He told us he would be there in 15 minutes. So day number we weren’t able to shower once again. We had to use our bottled water that we purchased for drinking to brush our teeth. We left around 9am to go ATV riding a hour away and the tour was two hours. So the owner had enough time while we were gone to check out the issue. Anyways we came back to our room sadly still no water. We were wet and muddy, we smelled so bad from the mud and dirty waters from ATV. We saw the owner in our room without our permission and he told us that we were on the third floor so that makes the water pressure very low to none. Then the owner told us he was going to move us to the second floor , that the water was way better.
