Stay in Someshwar

The room and bathroom were clean. There’s a window facing outside, which is quite rare in Varanasi’s old city. The bathroom was clean and comfortable, with reliable hot water. The Wi-Fi worked great, and the bed was large and very comfortable, with clean bedsheets. The owner was friendly, helpful, and always available, making sure that guests were satisfied and everything was in order. The location is fantastic — very close to the river and situated in an extremely authentic alleyway. There are great restaurants within walking distance, and just outside the guesthouse, there are small, charming temples that add to the authentic vibe of the place.

Out of the three rooms, two are extremely small. In my mind they are simply too small for a couple. The big room is very nice. Regarding the noise mentioned in other reviews: it should be very clear, from 5AM it is almost impossible to sleep unless you have really good earplugs.

The hotel is situated at the ghat side with very close proximity to Kashi Vishwanath temple and the nearby market. You can just walk for 2 mins to watch the ganga arati as well. The hospitality by the owner and his two sons were exceptional. This property is highly recommended if you are planning a trip to Varanasi.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were super clean and very comfortable. Moreover the behaviour of the hotel owners was really great and they were very responsive to all of our queries. I would highly recommend this to everyone of you guys, specially one who is looking to stay near the ghats.

Property is situated near Dolphin restaurant. It would be easier to reach hotel by river side.

The staff were very helpful. Fabulous location! Room was perfect. There was a queue to the temple in the morning for two hours but for me this was lovely to hear the chitter chatter. Real India. Very much recommended and great value. 👍🏻

The hotel was perfectly located near the kashi temple and the ghat. Mr Praveen and Divyanshu were very helpful.

The bathroom facilities could be better. Mr Praveen was informed about it. He accepted that the issue will be looked into asap

Stayed for two days. Divyanshu came to the streets to receive us at 11.45pm when we were struggling in the crowd to find the place. He also arranged a place for a foreign lady who accompanied us from the airport as her booking had got cancelled and she was unable to find another accommodation at that late hour. He is the perfect host willing to help in all situations. The location is perfect for visit to the Ghats and Temples which are all nearby.

Great and friendly host. Just few steps away from dashashwamedh ghat where divine ganga aarti happens. Serene views. Highly recommended.

Access to location, but walking the narrow streets is fun.
