Hars Garden Sumba

Hars je jeden z lidi, ktere v zivote chcete potkat. Jeho pristup k organickemu farmareni, zodpovednosti k okoli a komunite a tak vubec je opravdu prinosny. Predevsim skveli lide. Nadto skvela strava, ubytko a uchvatny vyhled, zvlaste kdyz chytite zapad slunce.

Le site de Hars est juste incroyable ! Les 3 lodges sont face aux collines qui s'étendent à perte de vue. Splendide au lever et coucher du soleil. Calme et sérénité se dégagent de cet endroit. La chambre est agréable et le service de Hars au top ! Sa cuisine est délicieuse et il nous a concocté un petit circuit sur 3 jours où il nous a montré des cascades, site typique, plages magnifiques... Il nous a même conduit à notre hôtel suivant. Merci Hars pour votre disponibilité et gentillesse. Je recommande fortement si vous cherchez une expérience unique !

La nourriture était bonne et la vue sur les montagnes assez exceptionnelle. Les hébergements sont très beaux et assez bien aménagés pour profiter des couleurs du lever et du coucher de soleil, ainsi que de la nuit étoilée.

Nous avons été extrêmement déçus par le staff et l’équipement, surtout après avoir lu les éloges sur cet endroit. Le propriétaire des lieux était absolument inflexible, en plus d’être arrogant. Il laisse ses chiens en liberté dans tout l’espace même le soir, ce qui fait qu’ils ont mangé une partie de notre dîner. Après lui avoir demandé d’emmener ses chiens autre part pendant que nous dînions le deuxième soir, il nous a simplement ri au nez en disant que c’était la nature et qu’on devait faire avec. Le matin, sous prétexte de s’intéresser à nous et nos activités, il a interrompu notre petit déjeuner interrompu pour vendre ses activités et s’auto congratuler de son « eco homestay ». Heureusement, le reste du staff a relevé cette expérience en étant très souriant et bienveillant. Pour finir, l’écologie ne justifie simplement pas le manque d’eau, d’autant que tous les homestays qui nous ont accueillis à Sumba étaient tout aussi écologiques. Il était impossible de se doucher et nous n’avions pas d’eau à disposition (l’endroit étant relativement isolé, il faut prendre ses précautions).

Nothing, everything was great

Hars Garden is an extraordinary natural retreat, lovingly created and run by Hars. If you want to be fully immersed in nature, this is the place. You won't find Wi‑Fi here. Instead, you'll get spectacular views of rolling hills and the ocean, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets, dreamy starry nights, and delicious organic meals, cooked by Hars himself using produce from his garden. Every moment here was bliss. We felt warmly welcomed and were able to explore many beautiful spots around East Sumba during our stay. The villa is simple yet comfortable, with running water and thoughtful, charming details. There’s a mosquito net (but never saw mosquitoes in the villa), and no fan or AC (but nights cooled pleasantly). What truly stands out is how Hars has created everything on the property himself, from building the houses to planting and nurturing the vast range of trees and plants. Walking around, you can feel the immense passion and hard work that has gone in to bring this place to life. It's truly inspiring to see the positive impact a single person can have! Our thanks to Hars and Bram for a wonderful stay - we can’t wait to return!

We had a really nice two night stay at Hars Garden. The location of the accommodation is superb! The views are amazing! We booked a very fun half day tour with Hars to see the secret waterfalls and a viewing point. At night he prepared us delicious dinners. The breakfasts were also very good. We recommend visiting Hars Garden when in and around Waingapu!

For me this is the Sumba Experience, A unique location, & very well put together accommodation, Sunrises, Sunsets, Good Food, Great atmosphere, peace & quiet. Supplied in the Best Possible off the Beaten Track Way by Hars & The Boss. (only joking). Visit a few local places of interest or just mostly chill as I did.

Hars was amazing. He showed us the best sunrise and our kids loved the secret waterfall with super clear water! I already recommended this place to friends.
