Utama Villas Beach Front Candidasa

In almost every room there is a lot of mold at the walls! Sleeping area as well as in the Bathroom...not nice..also the smell the whole time.. doesn't matter if have the front row ocean or a bungalow at the back (had both and in both are everywhere mold) Spoke already with the owners about that ..but simply repainting the walls is not solving the problem! They should really do something about it ! Blankets and towels haven't been clean either..... Also no fridge in the bungalows....

With the exception of the 4 units overlooking the pool the rest of the property is run down and very basic. The pool area feels as though it is the private pool of the front units and I felt like I was intruding. The steps around the property are too deep and no good for anyone with bad knees, or wheel chair disabled, or elderly.

The position of the beachfront rooms is fantastic, overlooking a beautiful beach with clear water. Great for swimming. Also a nice pool in front of the rooms . Close to a road with good warungs and spas. Utama Beach villas position is excellent and I would not hesitate to stay again except for the problems stated below.

What a shame as these rooms should be 10/10 but unfortunately there is a damp problem in the internal walls. There is visible mould as well as active damp with paint peeling. Not healthy. During rain the room flooded , this is known to staff who offered towels to mop it up. The drain in the shower needs attention, it’s smelly and blocked.

The Utama , was in a great location. It had a small beachfront, and a lovely pool. The snorkelling was pretty good so lots of fish and a few people spotted turtles. You do need flippers though as the current can be quite strong . It was a long narrow property and at the top there was a small street of some great well priced restaurants. The main town was about a five minute drive plenty of drivers about to take you there. It was a 35 minute walk on narrow pathways and a busy Road . The villa accommodation was comfortable and clean , good air conditioning, but fairly basic. The front four units would be great to stay as they have wonderful views. The rest of the units were in a long line so not much of a view but pretty gardens. The staff were always very friendly their English not terribly good but we understood each other. We had eight days there in a group of seven. I thought perhaps eight days was too long about 6 would’ve been great. But all in all it was certainly very cheap for our eight nights. It was nice to be able to spend the money on other things. Especially all the local restaurants. Two massage places pretty much next door so we made good use of them. ATM very close by. On my last day I had 120 minute Bali massage and I think it’s one of the best messages I’ve ever had 😀

Not much really - but facilities pretty basic, but the usual things about not flushing toilet paper down the loo , and the showers not running that well is pretty standard throughout Bali. Not the properties fault but only a small beach area so couldn’t take long strolls along the beach.
