The Elms Thekkady

I had a wonderful stay at the Elms. The staffs were very kind and accommodating. Amal makes the best masala chai and it was very easy to communicate and organize everything from the hotel. The room was comfortable with Fan and very clean. Definitely recommend if you want to stay closer to the Periyar wildlife reserve.

The Elms is a really clean, comfortable hotel with good wifi and hot showers. Dennis on the front desk is incredibly helpful and kind. He gave us lots of information about local attractions, reserved our dance/martial arts tickets and our taxi. Thank you Dennis!

Sanjay was a great host, greeting us with a juice and snack which was lovely after a 4+ hour taxi ride. He answered all of our questions and was very helpful. We felt safe and the location was very central but the balcony still felt private

The staff were absolutely phenomenal! As a solo traveler figuring things out in a new city can be challenging, but the Elms team made it easy. They even came to my rescue when I needed to secure a multi-hour taxi ride. The room and common spaces were clean and welcoming. They made me feel right at home with their delicious tea and help in navigating tourist activities. As a bonus, there are very cute monkeys that like to hang around the hotel.

Newly refurbished and situated in a nice part of town and close to many lovely eateries. The Elms has been recently modernised with lots of eco-friendly touches. The rooms are clean, bright and well maintained.and had tea and coffee making facilities and the bathroom had everything you would need. Nice verandah attached to our room. Sanjay on the front desk was brilliant, so helpful and always there to answer queries etc. All the rooms have nature related names which is a nice touch!

Some bedside tables would be good.. Overall nothing to not like.

Hotel is located next to a side road which was noisy in the morning.

Modern hotel in good, quiet location. Received a welcome drink on arrival which was kind. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was very clean, simply but nicely furnished and comfortable. Good shower. Balcony looked great although we didn’t use it.

Room and bathroom were smaller than we imagined.
