Wern farm cottage

It was a lovely place to stay. Very clean and had everything we needed. It’s right on the canal my 6 year old loves watching the ducks and boats go by. The house has everything you could need and it’s very clean and comfortable.

Beautifully presented clean & well laid out. Perfect location for our family event in Cwmbran Everything you need in easy reach , pretty by the canal. Cute patio garden was perfect for our needs for a weekend.

Excellent information from the host and very accommodating for our family requirements. Lewis was able to recommend an alternative local pub as the Open Hearth (down the canal from the property) were only serving BBQ food on the day we stayed. The cottage was warm and clean throughout.

We struggled with the TV for some unknown reason; could only get Channel 4 on terrestrial channels so we ended up using Prime.

A perfect location for our needs .

The location was ideal for exploring. Sadly we were very disappointed in this property.

The milk left for us was 4 months out of date and the sugar in the packets was damp. The shower trap was blocked resulting in the basin filling up with water. We'd booked after reading great reviews about the cleanliness but unfortunately we did not find this to be the case. The kitchen floor was greasy, crumbs on the work top, stairs carpet dirty, brown grime on the shower tiles and door seals as well as soap scum and hairs in the bath. Like another review had said, the name Wern Farm Cottage is somewhat misleading as it is neither a farm nor a cottage. The outside space needed some attention. The rubbish bins and bottle boxes were full and smelly, so much so we couldn't close the lid properly when we put our own rubbish in.. There are steps out the back of the property to a street where you can park but they are dangerous with broken bricks and hedges overgrown so you can't get down properly. Unfortunately, the above reasons teamed with the fact that the double bed was so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep, we checked out 2 nights early. We're surprised to hear nobody has complained about the bed before as it sags badly in the middle so one of us slept on the floor!
