Carpenters Cottage Quirky home Seaside town

Beautiful little cottage, very well decorated and well located. Very nice little attention upon arrival with refreshments and biscuits, all much appreciated!

A beautiful, well built house, offering comfort, warmth, style and all necessary kitcen equipment for our meals. We signed into Netflix easily and played card games until late.

The weather was quite unsettled and we ended up getting soaked when out for a walk. But, we managed to rest and catch up.

I am being really objective here because I do not want to offend. It is very clear that a lot of renovation has been done. However, the cottage is more style over comfort and some very basic necessities could be provided. First of all Host asked if we wanted cottage decorated for Christmas and of course we replied yes and this conjures up typical (but not high end) expectations. There was a small meagre tree and a bland garland - a bit glum! The sofa (which also serves as a double bed) is so hard and uncomfortable to sit on. The table & chair system just too cumbersome and heavy to use. (Lighter ones are so readily available), another small side table would have been very helpful. No drainer for washed dishes etc. No tea bag dish. Little things like this are so needful so we can then look after the kitchenary provided. A cooker that was just too complicated to use. Storage space for food very limited. The bathroom whilst stunning has no bath safety rail either side. This again is so necessary. The bed is so comfortable, clean and fresh, but again only one bedside table. A bigger set of drawers is needed in the bedroom as there was not enough space to put sweaters, underwear etc. The wardrobe is excellent for hanging clothes and plenty of quality hangers. These are not expensive things to correct or provide but just make a stay less fretful. As to four people being able to stay here - in my opinion that would be really difficult all round. The cottage is really close to the town and beach which is excellent. But parking was an absolute nightmare whatever time of day. There were quite a few extra provisions such as soap, towels, loo rolls, bedding, handwash which is a lovely gesture but not as important as the other points I have mentioned. As already said, I am being totally objective, I don't know the host so I have no reason whatsoever to be deliberately negative.

The welcome gift and soaps were a lovely surprise and gesture. Location was excellent, a short walk to shops. The cottage is beautiful and quaint and clean. The bed was comfy and our daughters found the sofa bed comfortable too. Great wifi. We enjoyed the games too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Nothing. If I had to pick one thing, a coffee pod machine would be nice.

Lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Perfectly positioned to walk into town and to the seafront.

It was an extremely cold day and when we arrived the cottage felt very chilly. We turned up thermostat but it didn't get any warmer. The next day the weather warmed up and so did the cottage!

I liked everything, it was absolutely outstanding a gorgeous clean little cottage and everything you could possibly need was provided ,even got welcomed with a basket of goodies I will definitely use again and would recommend it to anyone thankyou for letting us stay xx
