Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good location

Poor WiFi, weak/not working at times, a few mosquitos in the room. Difficult to regulate AC, in order to have the temperature cool, needed to put on ceiling fans which were very noisy at night. Shower pressure was very good but the drain had not been cleaned (according to housekeeping who had to sort it out) so water flooded out into bathroom and bedroom area, staff cleaned it up quickly. Rooms did not look like they were well maintained, stains in the floor rug, marks on the wall etc despite us hearing that the property had been renovated very recently. Breakfast was ok but we were told that we could come down for it up to 10.30 am. We arrived just before that and my husband was told that the staff had rang our room (the phone didn’t work as that was the second time we’d been told of a call and we’d received none!) earlier as they wanted us down around 9.30-10. Not very welcoming and we then were served food without asking in advance if there was anything we didn’t eat/were allergic too and then the waiter went to a different room so we couldn’t ask for coffee or anything until he would resurface a while later. No bar or alcohol served. That’s not unusual in Kochi but there’s also no area to hang out and relax unless you want to go out on a small balcony area where mosquitos are prevalent. If prices were less, we might have been happier but they were 25% more than a lovely heritage property that we’d stayed in the previous weekend (Ginger Museum Hotel) so we expected a similar standard but the building wasn’t as nice and food and service were at a different level. On a positive note, the night staff were very helpful and friendly and made us a breakfast to take away as we had an early flight on our last day so we appreciated that. The hotel could be nice but the prices are too high at the moment for what is quite a basic room, not 4 or 5 star prices/standards.

1. the staff is really kind, humble and accommodating. they provided my father (who reached really early) with a early check in. they were always willing to cater to our requests to the best of their abilities. 2. the rooms are spacious and the property is neatly maintained.

1. Not so much a reflection on the property but the location is not the most ideal. It is close to the Jew Town area but away from Fort Kochi area (and there is a lot more to do there). the roads are not exactly walkable (esp with a baby stroller). 2. The food for meals (other than breakfast) could be improved.
