Royal Canaan Nairobi Hotel

Location is great

I checked in at 12 midnight after an 8 hr long flight. I had so many bags so the front desk stuff asked someone to help me with my bags to my room. Anyway I did not have any cash on me to tip the guy so I told him I will tip him in the morning, I just wanted to shower and go straight to bed. the guy said i should use my card to tip him that he cannot wait till tomorrow. He stood outside my door. So I had to go down to the front desk to tip him. I had no problem tipping him however I thought that was very unprofessional and rude. Anyway we were a group of 5 and we booked our stay for 7 nights but the service in the place wasn’t good at all. If anything most of the staffs were rude and not accommodating at all. They kept making up new rules everyday. We were not allowed to take pictures in the lobby, even though we are staying there, they told our guests that they are only allowed to visit for 2 hours, what kind of a hotel tells you how long your allowed to have people over. And it’s not like we were partying, The rooms are way smaller than advertised, the drainage in the bathroom wasn’t working, some of my friends rooms had brooked locks that they didn’t bother to repair before we checked in, that’s a 3 star hotel at best

Very nice place with amazing staffs. Was a real pleasure to stay at RT. The hotel is also very well located with great surroundings.
