NLAmazing location and the host is very kind nd helpful. He also prepared some really amazing Ladaki food for us during the stay. Loved it! No WiFi and spotty network, a good way to completely disconnect.
Heating left a bit to be desired. Needed more firewood easily available.

No basin to wash hands or brush teeth. We weren’t allowed downstairs to main living area as photos and the idea of a homestay indicate also showed bathroom that seemed no existent. The company 'Mountain Homestays' that seem to manage various homestays in the region, we felt MHS were inflexiable and somewhat tricky to deal with. The condition referred to of my wife, was altitude sickness- that was brought to the attention of MHS before we left Leh, 2hrs after paying the 30k in cash to MHS. My Email- ' I just needed to flag my wife has been sick and throwing up this afternoon and and has been bedridden all afternoon, Dorge noticed she wasn’t well, while in office. We may need to delay our departure by a day to help her get better. Would this be ok ? MHS- Response-As discussed over the phone, we would recommend you visit the SNM Hospital to get the correct treatment for Janeane. We can look at moving the dates if required, but the same has to be informed by 2:30PM today. Additionally, as a part of the process we will only be issuing a refund once we receive a document from a hospital or health clinic regarding a health issue preventing you from travelling. We were given 40mins to provide a doctors certificate. Which was most unresonable considering the condition of my wife. A day later we were forced to stay at a lower altitude In Sakti and were able to gain a doctors certificate but more importantly some care and rest for my wife. We would strongly recommend booking directly with the Homestays if at all possible.
OMThe hosts were welcoming and warm. The home cooked meals were amazing. They made all the efforts to make our stay comfortable in the off season when the temperature was -16 degrees.
Since we went in the peak winter, the traditional heater wasn’t enough to warm up the room as each time it only lit for 15-20min. Other than that it was all good.
JPIt was a freezing winter at Pangong but the homestay was the most coziest I could have dreamnt of. Wonderful hosts and wonderful hospitality. Truly Enjoyed the experience.
Everything was great. Ofcourse the winters are freezing and can only use dry toilets, but noting much the hosts can do

SGLoved the view of the lake, the host and family were very accommodating and made sure we settled in well, we were served delicious food and were warm in our rooms. Thanks to Nobu and his family, we enjoyed our stay and looking at stars in the night sky. There's very little to no light pollution here!
