"A short stay in Liverpool to watch EPL."

Clean and looks new. Close proximity to halal food. Convenience store just opposite the apartment. Walking distance to Liverpool One.

Guests with big luggages are advisable to take taxi or uber as the route is uphill from Liverpool train station. Apartment was on 3 rd floor with no lift. The digital lock was faulty for 2 nights. We had to call someone to come and reset causing great inconvenience. Apartment is definitely not for 3 guests. The extra bed was placed in the small living room thus leaving no room to move around or to put our luggages. The heater in the bed room is not working but the staff who came to reset the door did not even bother to help check. We slept in the cold for the nights we were there.

"Read the small print - £200-£300 'security deposit' for 1 night stay - 4 days later, still no refund"

Convenient for city centre

Everything else. Force customers to pay a £200 security deposit for an already overpriced 1 night stay (totalling over £310 for the most basic room in a run down area). I have now seen several reviews raising concerns about this and issues such as hygiene - all of which get a defensive response. This includes people who have waited for 3 weeks for their money to be returned. Had to walk to the property, then again to a different location to get the codes - which were only given upon credit card demand. As others have said, this was not easy when one of the party had a disability and delayed plans. Staff paying no attention whatsoever when copying details of email/credit card to 'return deposit'. We slept for 6 hours only in the room due to visiting family for 1 night. I have still not received my 'deposit' back 4 days later and counting, very close to Christmas this is a nightmare and will need to do a credit card chargeback through the bank. I'm in my 50s, a professional and have lived and stayed all over the world. This is the first time any hotel/B&B/guesthouse has ever asked this of me and it is hidden in the small print. Not worth the hassle for a run down room that had unwashed sheets in the cupboard and couldn't even leave milk. As we used it only for a brief sleep, and left it better than we found it, this is not on.

Everything it was modern clean tidy the staff communication was excellent. We requested an early check-in that was no problem. The location it’s a right little gem and I’ll be looking to book again.

Nothing really, but the only problem is where it’s located. You can’t really stop immediately outside the property with your bags but we found Mount Pleasant car park literally just down the hill

"It was ok but a few small details improved could have made it better"

Despite being advised that we would receive the access code(s) by 3pm it was not until we were outside the front door at about 4pm that we had to rind to have the e-mail sent to us. There was no heating functioning in the property when we arrived. The overnight storage heaters were switched off in December!! The water temperature in the taps is set to a level that would be considered dangerously hot. I would review this if I were you

"Fabulous apartment, lousy communication."

The apartment itself is excellent. It is quite spacious for two, with a very comfortable bed, a great bathroom with shower and a kitchen/dining room/lounge. It is in a good location, close to the city centre, about 10 minutes walk from Lime Street station. The local area was very quiet at night, so easy to get a good sleep.

I booked and paid in full for the apartment on 28th November. Our stay was to be on 7th December. I sent confirmation of our expected arrival time, 1500 and received approval for this. I then sent, as requested, copies of our passports and credit card details so the owners could take a security deposit. On the morning of our stay, at 0850, before we had left home, I received an email thanking me for staying at Clarence House and inviting me to complete a review. At 1445 I had still not received any instruction on how to enter the apartment, so I telephoned. I was told that the cleaners were still preparing the apartment but I would shortly be texted the entry codes. We arrived outside the apartment at 1500, still with no code and so no means of entry. Another phone call gave the information that the batteries needed changing in the door lock, so someone would be there to meet us and let us in shortly. At about 1510 a gentleman arrived, let us in to the apartment and changed the batteries in the lock. We left our bags and set off for our 1600 appointment still not having the code for re-entry. I was assured that the code would be texted to me soon! The door codes arrived later, by text. We returned to the apartment at 2300 and gained access to the building, but the code for the apartment did not work. We were now inside the building, outside the apartment, with our luggage inside. Another phone call to confirm the code eventually revealed that one digit in the 7 digit code was incorrect. Finally with the correct code, we gained access to the apartment at 2316. About 5 minutes later there was a knock at the door and another gentleman had arrived to check that we were in! Once inside I could not find the WiFi password anywhere. There is a promising looking folder on the table, but that held only instructions for the heating and literally no other information. It turns out that the codes were sent to me via the Booking.
