Mara Intrepids Tented Camp

fabulous game drives, lovely tent, wonderful staff, very good price for a tented camp and 3 games drives per day. Most camps give you just two. Great location in the middle of the Mara, only 5 minutes from the airport, I was concerned I would hear planes all day but not an issue at all. Set right on the river with hippos right in front of you. Great camp.

Food could of been a bit better, beautiful presentation however, rooms did need a bit of sprucing up.

The stay at Mara Intrepid was nothing short of exceptional truly one of those vacations that stays with you long after you leave. The experience was elevated to another level thanks to John, our safari guide. His deep respect for nature, incredible knowledge, and understanding of every inch of the savanna and its animals made each game drive unforgettable. You can feel that this is not just a job for him it’s a passion. A big thank you as well to Samuel from room service, who made sure the room was always spotless and welcoming, with the bed warm and perfectly prepared every evening such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference after long days in the bush. The restaurant team deserves special praise truly an army of excellence. Joshua, Masila, and Karen stood out with their constant smiles, warm welcome, and impressive attention to detail. Every meal felt personal, relaxed, and generous. What made this place special is that it genuinely felt like home. The atmosphere, the people, the care everything was perfectly balanced. After ten safari holidays in Kenya, Tanzania, and Botswana, we can truly say your camp is the most exceptional. Authentic yet luxurious, with an unforgettable African atmosphere. We enjoyed every minute! And: Special thanks to our driver Raphael! The best safariguide we could wish for, for twelve unforgettable game drives with incredible wildlife adventures. What an amazing place. The staff were amazing throughout & the food was exceptional. Paul our ranger was just amazing & with his 15 years experience he knew exactly where to drive to for the animals. The whole thing was the best experience ever.

Nothing not to like.

We have just come back from the most amazing honeymoon at Mara Intrepids, and I honestly don’t know where to begin. Every single member of staff was exceptional from start to finish. On arrival, we were welcomed with a traditional song and a refreshing fruit juice – such a special and memorable start to our stay. We stayed in Tent 26, which had a beautiful view over the river. At night, we could hear hippos playing just outside our tent, which was absolutely incredible and something we will never forget. Reuben, our room attendant, did a fabulous job throughout our stay. He brought us tea and biscuits every morning and provided a wonderful turndown service each evening. Considering where we were, we were amazed that we never saw a single mosquito in our tent and didn’t get one bite during our entire stay. The restaurant team were fantastic. Louisiana and Joseph were wonderful, and Dinah always made a point of asking what we had seen on our game drives and showed genuine interest. The food was outstanding – they truly have exceptional chefs. On two mornings we took the breakfast boxes for our game drives, which were free and beautifully done. Sitting in the middle of the Maasai Mara enjoying breakfast was unforgettable. On our final night, we were surprised with a private Kenyan BBQ by the river – just three tables, a fire and chefs cooking over the grill. It was a thank you for staying four nights and was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We honestly couldn’t fault Mara Intrepids. If we could have tipped every single member of staff, we would have. We will definitely be back.

The location was great!! Our tent was facing Talek river. We saw hyena, hippos water bucks & some little crocs at the river. All the staff were nice, friendly, helpful & accomodating. The food was great too. Simon, our guide & driver was knowledgable. He knew where & when to find animals. An expert driver as well. Our game drives were amazing. We really really love it!! The camp itself is just minutes away frm Olkiombo airstrip. So we dont hv to travel far to reach the camp. It really helps during checkout time cos we dont hv to rush.

The water heater was a lil slow in the shower. We hv to wait like 10 mins for the hot water after turning it on.

Allt var perfekt, väldigt fin personal och service, poolen var skön, tälten bra. Maten toppen och är väldigt nöjd. Chauffören/ guiden var toppen och vi hade samma chaufför i tre dagar. Fick fina minnen och upplevelser

Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo trascorso 3 notti in 2 tende al Mara Intrepids e è stato favoloso. Una organizzazione straordinaria, ti vengono a prendere al piccolo aeroporto vicino alla struttura e ti riportano. Noi eravamo in 5 e ci è stata riservata la jeep per tutte le uscite che volevamo con Paul che è stato meraviglioso. Noi uscivamo 3/5 ore al giorno. Un giorno abbiamo fatto un safari di 6 ore stupendo e ci hanno dato la colazione al sacco da fare nella savana. Super ricca e un'esperienza straordinaria (non abbiamo pagato nessun extra x questo). Pulizia favolosa e tutto il personale è davvero educato, ospitale e sorridente. Ci hanno accolto all'arrivo con un piccolo balletto Masai. Favoloso. Ogni sera alle 19 hanno organizzato delle presentazioni/balletti della tribù Masai vicina. Abbiamo mangiato meravigliosamente e la Chef principale è una donna e cucina in modo straordinario. A pranzo buffet e a cena servita al tavolo con un menù di due scelte o più anche x vegetariani.Colazione a buffet molto buona. Bellissimo il servizio di portare il caffè/latte/cioccolato alle tende prima di partire per i safari la mattina presto. Quando eravamo a cena poi lo staff andava nella tenda ad aprire la zanzariera sul letto e mettere la borsa dell'acqua calda sotto le coperte vista l'escursione termica notturna. Piscina nuova e favolosa. Io viaggio molto in posti di lusso ma qui c'è un livello da 5 stelle alla grande. Complimenti davvero x il vostro bel lavoro. Voglio sottolineare che tutto ciò che ho raccontato era compreso nel prezzo iniziale. Era escluso soltanto il bere durante i pasti del pranzo e cena, ovviamente le consumazioni di bere al bar durante la giornata e il costo dell'ingresso giornaliero alla riserva.

Purtroppo quando siamo stati noi (gennaio) la notte fa freddo (13/15 gradi) e essendo in una tenda è abbastanza freddo. Non c'è nessun fornelletto x scaldare un po' l'ambiente e risulta un po' troppo freddo pur vestendosi. Staccano la corrente elettrica da mezzanotte alle 04.00 della mattina e non è molto pratico x ricaricare i cellulari e se devi alzarti per andare in bagno (all'interno della tenda forniscono una torcia ma è un po' pochino).
