Shamokin Bed and Breakfast

This is a beautiful home, the history is everywhere you look. We are now Shamokin fans!

Decent amount of space in the bedroom, mattress is comfortable, tv is big

Half the lights in the bedroom aren’t operating, bathroom is tight

Shamokin Bed & Breakfast is housed in a beautifully restored Victorian mansion. The room we stayed in, The Bittersweet Room, was spacious and quiet, with high ceilings, enormous wardrobes, and an immaculately clean bathroom. The large bed was very comfortable, and there was a comfortable pull-out sofa for my daughter. Even the book selection in the room was excellent. Packaged baked goods and Keurig pods were provided for breakfast. The property manager was very friendly and invited me and my daughter to explore the property.

Thoughtfully renovated with unique local artifacts. A great celebration of Shamokin history! We stayed in Kate’s Room and had fun investigating her story.

Although we like a DIY breakfast, offerings were limited.

The bed and breakfast is historic and beautiful and well maintained. Directions were easy to follow and the staff was amazing.

There were a lot of stairs, not a big deal to us but could be to someone else

N The building had character and charm. The unit was HUGE and clean...just tired. The carpet could use replacement. The kitchen area was well stocked, and we did meet the new manager. She was very courteous and friendly, and admitted she was new on the job. Restaurants in the area are down homey type places and absurdly cheap...a three egg omelet for like six bucks? How is that even possible? The building apparently has an interesting history. Bed was really comfortable, and it was clean.

NO BREAKFAST HERE. Somethings have been let go for quite awhile...carpeting, a non-functional TV, puny window units that got incredibly noisy. It really needs some freshening to restore the charm. Booking is handled by somebody in Thailand, and the phone is answered by an auto attendant that may be the most frustrating and time consuming one in existence. The area of town is depressed, with run down and boarded up buildings in the area.
