Dieu Donne Cottage

Stunning home next to the dam. Beautiful setting and there is nobody else anywhere near. Need to spend more than a day there to enjoy all the facilities available - trout fishing, hikes and canoeing.

Quiet surroundings, comfortable accommodation, simple but stylish decor. Canoe available for a paddle on a huge dam. Hostess very accommodating.

I would add another couch for sitting inside at fireplace and more indigenous plants on the property.

The host was prompt in answering our questions, and what was missing on the first day was provided afterwards, Kayaks were available and we really enjoyed making use of them! The facilities were amazing and we will certainly recommend and return if we are in the area! It was quiet, we had the whole property and lake to ourselves and we felt very safe.

Getting to the property was a bit of an adventure. A car without high clearance could be tricky and as we arrived after rains, we were only able to access the property via the farm itself and not the usual way over the dam wall. Certain basics were not available and we even had to buy salt and pepper. Also, there are no screens on the windows (so you can't leave the windows opwn in the evening) and no fans. Most nights it wasn't a problem and it is naturally cool, but one night it was a bit stiffling and hot.

Really beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Close to icon Sani Pass and other hiking.

We loved the feel and look. It is well equiped, with attention to detail. Sani pass is closeby.

We liked everything!

-The quietness! -Really well fenced - dogs had freedom to run around the cottage garden. -The location was perfect…right on the water’s edge with a wonderful view of the (snow covered) mountains. Getting there was easy too…just an easy drive from Underberg.

liked the space, access to the lake. secure property. friendly host. liked that they cleaned and restacked the fireplace each day.

needs a plunger coffee maker as coffee is needed for those cold mornings.
