Ausable Valley Inn

Probably going to try somewhere else next time I'm in Mio

It is a rustic type location and fit the bill. The key is clean and super staff.

The hotel has a small town feel, because it is. No room service and none of the places in town deliver, but we knew that going in. The staff is friendly, the room was clean, the town is beautiful. This was my 3rd stay there. I would recommend it to anyone not looking for big city amenities.

The beds were very firm and since we didn't go anywhere for an entire day, the very small trash can got filled very quickly.

The carpet was very stained, the curtains had holes in them, the walls had multiple patches, and there were bugs in the room. When I took a picture of the bugs with the Google description app, it told me they were bed bugs!

Room was nice except for ac . It was either freezing or off , no mid range . The pool was very green and hot tub was down for maintenance. Could improve on the pool side furniture also . Disappointed about pool and especially the hot tub . Continental breakfast was very slim , no juice or hot foods Ice machine never had more than a scoop of ice in it . It was expected to buy ice at $2 bag These are things I believe we paid for and did not get .

Overall the stay was good. I had trouble when I arrived with the booking. The motel had me down with a higher price than what I had reserved. It took some discussion and having and talking to the manager, but it was resolved. For some reason, their system had me down as an Expedia reservation not Hotels.com. My emailed receipt saved me.

Convenient stay for Au Sable River activities. AK was very accommodating for our 130am arrival, room was clean & beds were comfortable. Great water pressure, very hot water if you need it. Place could use new pillows, so best bring your own, and the “continental” breakfast is just yogurt & packaged bagels/muffins. Highly recommend The Grind Coffee shop for variety of coffees & breakfast. The Riverhouse & Ma Deeters were great for dinner.

The staff at the desk was SUPER nice and accommodating

Meager breakfast, no coffee maker in room

Close to tubing. Rooms were decent. Deck was nice.

Loved it will be back
