Ausable Valley Inn

This motel is located in a small rural Michigan town with limited accommodations. Even though the property was built several decades ago, the current owner has made numerous updates and improvements…focused on comfort. We stayed for 2 nights in the King Suite, which included a jacuzzi tub. The spacious room was very clean, and had all the amenities to provide a comfortable stay.. While there we used the jacuzzi tub, mini-fridge, microwave, internet, and ROKU large-screen television. The jacuzzi tub filled quickly, with plenty of hot water. A comfortable king bed was located in a separate space with a door for privacy, Each side of the bed had a nightstand with a reading lamp. Throughout the suite there were plenty of places to store belongings. Coffee was available in the motel lobby throughout our stay. Although we didn’t use the motel’s featured pool nor spa, it looked clean and inviting.

The motel is located outside of the town center, so access to food establishments is not walkable. As mentioned in other reviews, the continental breakfast was limited and sparse. Our room,located on the second floor, was accessible by stairs off the motel’s lobby…no elevator. Overall, the aging motel building needed additional maintenance.

We came back from dinner and the staff had a nice fire going for us outside. Super friendly staff.

My only complaint was that the hot tub was warm not hot.

Would not stay here again
