No strong WiFi connection

It's a nice house and it has a cozy atmosphere but you share the family home of an absent mother leaving her house to her chinese parents to look after her sweet 2 y.o. daughter and the guests. They are very kind but it's hard to communicate. The house makes the impression of being bought full furnished and turned immediately into a guest house. Thats makes it homy and odd in the same way. You put your food beside the family stuff in the fridge, the room beside yours might be a private one or another guests... you cannot lock your room from outside (who is liable for things disappearing?) And you don't get a key to the house but have to be home by 10. And yes I was eating late and after that I could not take a longer walk but had to be home at 10 like a 16 yo haha The room was very sticky and small and there was no vent/ac

The location was close to Main Street, was well maintained and the garden was well cared for. The house was attractive 80 - 90 year old home.

Communication with the elderly Chinese couple managing the property was very difficult and had to be conducted by video call to the owner their daughter in Auckland. The doors were locked and the householder was then going to take the keys away leaving no easy exit in case of emergency and it was very difficult to get keys left in the lock. There was no alternative exit from the upper floor and no smoke alarms in any of the bedrooms or the kitchen or living spaces. We have complained to the local council about these fire hazards and found other complaints had already been made. We did not stay our full booked stay as we did not feel safe or comfortable

Old style house, beautiful wooden house which is rare nowadays. The staff is very friendly and I felt respected and welcomed. The environment is very quiet. The bed is very comfortable and I slept very comfortably.

The birds on the Christmas tree in the garden woke up early and started singing.

Communication was bad, insufficient English. In my room there was no WiFi so had to stand on corridor to send text. Door can not be locked from outside and there was a showerwindow in my door wherethrough privacy was less.

Clean and interesting, staff were helpful

Language was a problem and there was a lack of clarity between guest quarters and owners quarters
