Very clean, cozy, and welcoming for both a short or long stay

Beautiful hotel, great staff who were really helpful, great location, beautiful common room.

Clearly a strong culture of service among staff. I was surprised that all staff were foreigners at first, but clearly they have been encouraged to offer a level of service that is typical of the best Japanese Ryokan. The communal area is beautiful and peaceful, and I spent hours just reading there in the afternoons, with a full view of the mountains.

There were no negatives or misalignment with my expectations.

Snow Palace was amazing; my wife and I stayed there for around 5 days and we enjoyed the experience. The rooms were great and comfortable, the shared living room and dining room brought some nice cozy vibes and friendly interactions with other guests. The breakfast was simple but hit the spot. Especially if you're going to hop on the mountain; quick coffee, cereal and toast and then hit the slopes. I will say the standout experience was the staff, Gabby and her team are all so kind and have impeccable service skills. Will definitely return if I ever go back to Nozawa Onsen!

Tough; hard to say if we didn't like anything? Maybe the only thing is we're 10-15 minutes from the center of the village; that could be something to not like but it's a very chill walk and the team is always down to drive you to wherever you need to go.

A nice modern place with a japanese touch. All the staff are helpful. The shared kitchen and area are always kept clean. Little details like candles on the tables in the evening makes the whole place warm and cosy. Exceed my expectations indeed.

Housekeeping and TV will be an added bonus
