Guest house Mitaki

Traditionnel. On se sent en immersion malgré que l’on soit dans une grande ville. Un peu excentré cependant.

Friendly and welcoming host, very comfortable beds. Bed-cubicles enclosed in wood and curtains for privacy. Breakfast and dinner available for a price.

There is a bit of a hill to walk from the train or bus-stop. Not a problem except if arriving with heavy bags (as I did). Preferable to take a taxi on arrival if your luggage is heavy.

It was a super cozy and beautiful guest house. The host was always friendly and gave us helpful tips. The beds were clean and comfortable. :) It's right next to the Mitaki-dera temple!

Only if you don't like walking: be aware that the location is up on a hill, and buses do not run very often, especially in the evening. For us it was no problem at all though.

I arrived by bike in the dark, so the ride up the hill from the tram was a surprise. The host was very accommodating, and the other guests were very interesting and experienced travelers, hikers, and campers. Dinner was excellent, the free laundry facility a welcome relief, and the beautiful temple/shrine complex nearby an added diversion. The proprietor has some construction projects underway, but everything operated quietly, cleanly. and efficiently throughout my stay.

Hostel is out of city in a very peaceful location next to a beautiful shrine. It takes time but hostel grows on you and you feel like home and keep missing it once you have left. Try staying more nights and definitely visit the shrine next to it, most peaceful shrine I came across in Japan!

Lovely hostel, such friendly staff and lovely spot close to some local temples! Facilities were nice and clean and the beds comfy, stayed for 2 night and wish I was there longer!

The hostess helped me out getting my lost item from Kyoto. Very thankful for that. Stay was very comfortable.
