Staff was very friendly and helpful, available at all hours. Check-in was easy, and he helped carry our luggage upstairs and gave a tour of the entire area. He also gave recommendations for a local onsen down the street. Towels aren't provided in the room, but are available for 120 yen or so. Bathrooms and bathtubs were very convenient and comfortable--great water pressure, temperature, ease of use. About a 15-20 min walk to Kyoto Station.

The walls are really thin, so any small noise from other guests are easily heard at late / early hours. Not too big of an issue though, since we were so tired from exploring all day, but something to be aware of. Our room also had a skylight, which prevented sleeping in.

Everyone there was really nice, and it had a very "international house" feel. The main tatami room downstairs was super comfortable to just sit at the kotatsu and talk to people. My bed was also very clean and was very well put together with a light and outlet.

I wasn't quite sure what to do when I got there. I don't remember seeing instructions so I just walked in and called out to see if someone was home.

An unforgettable stay! The house was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a charming Japanese-style design that truly elevated my experience of being in Japan. It felt authentic and serene, making my stay even more special. The owner was incredibly kind, always available to answer any questions, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Their hospitality made a real difference. Highly recommend this place, and I would definitely book again!

It’s a really Japanese style guesthouse,and it is near the Kyoto station which is a walkable distance for you to arrive there by ur feet. And staff (or owner) is really kind and looking so much younger than his age lol

It was clean and very traditional Japanese style property, the owner was so kind and helpful- he carried my bag to the first floor after my tiring arrival at night, he also helped me google search for a massage place and made a reservation for me. The place is not so far from Kyoto station yet a very peaceful area. Overall, my stay was very pleasant.
