Traditional style hotel, it was lovely to see all the details and the experience of this type of accommodation and its shared spaces. The individual room was spacious and comfortable and despite having a futon-like bed, I slept like a baby.

Accommodation was a little farther from the touristy areas than expected and there was some noise at night before midnight from the other travelers as walls seemed a little on the thinner side.

The location

Honestly I dont get the positive comments. It is border okay but way too expensive for the value. I had allergy on eyes and neck (have photos if needed) so I guess I was not in a very clean room, never happened to me before. I question the blanket too. No towel landed. Thin thin thin walls - you can hear somebody whisper next door, a dorm would have been cheaper. I think that's actuelly the thing : dorm is way better than the private room, but I did not know. No mercy for a mistake I made - I booked an extra night by mistake because my flight was at 1 AM and I got confused, asked for a refund, it was a no because it would mean a room lost - I booked the day before arrival so let me say it was already lost!! I also offered to leave the 10 per cent discount I "benefited" from by booking via Booking.com Well, shame to leave Japan on such a note. I guess Massa is a nice guy but he was not understanding nor helpful on this one, really.

Very traditional Japanese house

Staff was SUPER nice! They help me so much! And the room was amazing. Is the first room I’ve had for myself in Japan and it was so comfortable, close to the train station and to the bus to the city center!!! Totally recommended

Lovely staff, very helpful, room and bathroom were clean and comfortable

Kitchen could have been cleaner (was not 'dirty' by any means, but counters needed a wipe). Walls are thin and was a little loud at night, but I was tired and slept fine. Since the property is a bit old it does smell a bit musty, I think it would only be a problem for very sensitive people (it did not bother me)
