Stellar value for a hostel. Location was very nearby many places to eat and right down the street from a public bathhouse. Several minutes walk to Kyoto Station. Building and rooms were cleaned and maintained daily. Masa was very friendly, accommodating, and helped me find several places in Kyoto that I enjoyed going to very much. I made repeated visits to two of the places (a local bar and the bathhouse) that were recommended to me and was very happy with the recommendations. I came away with a very positive impression of the place and would very happily come back to stay there again if/when I return to visit Kyoto.

It was a cosy house with clean facilities and the host was also very helpful.. Kitchen facilities available.. Loved the stay.

It's a little bit far from Kyoto station.. Not walkable distance...

The host was friendly and accommodating and gave me great recommendations on things to do.

Room was stuffy, no fresh air, mattress was very uncomfortable, blankets not washed (I had to return). Terrible towels which don't dry your body

Comfortable, cozy, clean house that was a great location. Host was very kind and gave lots of good recommendations for restaurants and things to do.

Only complaint was walls were quite thin and could hear even normal talking voices. People were very respectful with noise, however.

It was good, but I do think that it is a bit too expensive compared to what you get. Though it is a really nice staff and there was not anything bad about it - everything was good - but there was not gone that extra mile that makes the price worth it. No planned activities, special facilities or included breakfast.
