FRThe staff was lovely and Mr MD Shabbir Ali, the relatively new Front Office Manager, was very helpful in helping us choose restaurants during our stay. We chose the Astor because we preferred something more "old world" than some of the newer hotel towers without charm in Kolkata. It is also rather near the lively Park Street area with its restaurants and other activities
Overall, we liked everything. We chose a lovely large suite which was very comfortable on the first floor, but it looked over the air conditioning units for the entire hotel, and the noise was a bit disturbing. I believe that the hotel has the intention of rectifying this situation in the near future.

The noise from the nightclub kept us awake and would stop us from booking again. Not much for people with food intolerances on the evening menu. Could do with some updating on the inside. Shower heads need cleaning better or replacing, duvets need replacing. After one bed change, one bed was not given a duvet cover just two sheets, could clearly see how bad the duvet was.
GBThe staff were phenomenal, couldn't do enough for you. Bed was comfy, room was spotless, shower was fabulous.
My window was right at the bar level which could get a little noisy.
GBWe had a fantastic stay, the kebab restaurant was top quality and we enjoyed a drink on the bar terrace. Very relaxed atmosphere and would happily stay again.
