Ubizane Zululand Tree Lodge

The breakfast and dinner was good-staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Blessing. The location was excellent and very close to Hluhluwe Game reserve. The rooms were comfortable without being luxury.

The place itself was a little tired and could have done with a bit of an upgrade. Certain basics ran out like coffee and ice. I feel that the management should have been more present. We didn't see or meet any management the whole 5 days we were there. However, we did enjoy ourselves there and the staff made our stay.

The odd repair needed

Das Executive Zimmer war sehr groß und geräumig.

Leider trübten einige Punkte den Aufenthalt: Die Badezimmertür schloss nicht richtig, die Holzböden wirkten alt und die Dusche hätte sauberer sein können. Auch beim Frühstück war das Besteck teilweise verschmutzt, und die Auswahl beschränkte sich auf Toast, Butter, Marmelade und eine Eierspeise. Das Personal war eher zurückhaltend als herzlich. Allerdings ist die Region kein klassischer Touristen-Hotspot, sodass man bei Unterkünften durchaus gewisse Abstriche machen muss. Insgesamt nicht wirklich dreckig, aber auch nicht besonders sauber oder einladend. Für eine Übernachtung völlig in Ordnung.

Le concept de cabane dans les arbres est sympa mais ça mériterait un coup de rafraîchissement. On a pris le Safari en voiture de fin d’après-midi mais on pensait aller voir les big Five. En fait c’était un tour dans leur réserve de l’hôtel. Déjà très sympa, il y a des girafes et des zèbres mais si vous voulez les big five prenez la sortie du matin. Pas de wifi dans les chambres, pour info.

Dinner very limited Pricey.

Ubizane never fails to be a tremendous escape from the everyday rat race.

No longer licensed but really not a problem. Would just be good to be told in advance.
