Dinner and breakfast were amazing both French and Japanese. We are vegetarian so chef prepared special meals for us. The best rooms are in floors 3 and 4 where you have open view of the lake. We don’t recommend taking the deluxe rooms as there are only 2, and you might end up in the second floor with partial view of the lake.

A beautiful retreat near Toya Onsen. The staff were amazingly kind and the food at both the French and Japanese restaurants had some exceptional courses. The place had an aura of calm and relaxation. Both the large (shared) onsen and private room onsen were clean and soothing.

Just be aware that it is quite a way from the built up Toya Onsen area (about 1 hour walk or 1500 yen cab) and there are few amenities nearby outside the hotel (including restaurants for lunch, which the hotel does not offer). The hotel doesn't put on shuttle buses either, except once a day to and from the (further away) Toya JR (at proscribed times). It was also very expensive. Very nice, yes, but I wouldn't have expected anything else for the amount paid.

What a beautiful hotel!! Our bedroom had views to the lake, it was amazing. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the onsen was amazing. We were lucky, at the time we went my daughter and I had the whole onsen to ourselves.
