Casa Mura

I liked the location because it was within walking distance to the beach and was located in a residential area three blocks off the main road. The room was basic but had most everything I needed to cook my own meals there. The Wi-Fi worked well 90 percent of the time, and the shower water temp is comfortable. There is also AC and It's also close to the market, which I visited almost daily. Carlos is the kind of host a guest could hope for at any place. Kind and very helpful. He helped me rent a motorbike and also drove me to the bus station when it was time to leave. I'd stay again.

I didn't like how the silverware slipped through the slots of its holder or that I only had one kitchen towel. A saucepan would also be nice instead of two frying pans.

Everything was perfect at Casa Mura. Carlos is the most helpful host I ever met, nothing was never too much for him, always keen to help. Thanks again for everything! The flat itself has everything you need (AC, fridge / freezer, coffee machine, stove and pans...). It's less than 10 minutes walk from Zicatela beach where you'll find bars and restaurants. There is a small shop just around the corner from Casa Mura, literally 10 meters away, where you can get basic things like tortillas, cheese, local coffee, cold soft drinks, cold beers, snacks etc... They are really nice and welcoming people and they are open up to 10pm. Don't forget to spend some time on the rooftop, nice way to chills and relax a few hours. If I go to Puerto Escondido again I will not think twice and book the same place again.

We needed a place to stay for several days to recover from travellers tummy! This was the perfect place for that. Kitchen area was perfect for cooking our own meals and the market was a short walk with fantastic vegetable and fruit stalls. The roof terrace was the perfect place to relax in the evenings and watch the sun set. Carlos was an exceptional host and always at the end of a WhatsApp message, even arranging a taxi service for us with his cousin (who was a taxi driver). We returned to the road and our travels in fine health.

Nothing with the property. Some of the residents did party until very late into the night, against the house rules, which was inconsiderate.

The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. We really appreciated the ceiling fan and AC! Great location and felt very safe. The rooftop has an amazing view and is such a nice place to relax after a day out. Carlos was incredibly helpful and welcoming, an exceptional host who makes you feel at ease. We would definitely stay again.

The location was great for the beach and restaurants. The young man running it, Carlos is a wonderful person, nothing is too much trouble and his English is brilliant. The room was very clean and there was a cooker, fridge and a coffee machine too. Which is unusual on my travels in Mexico. Most places don't even have a fridge. I would definitely stay there again

If you do stay there I suggest you take earplugs because there are a lot of dogs in the area that bark at their own shadows 😆. Apart from that no problem

This is, hands down, no questions asked - the best accommodation we’ve had in our entire trip around Mexico! We’ve been in Mexico for over a month and this place is an absolute gem! Comfortable, welcoming with all necessities provided for; a.c, fan, water, cooker and fridge. It’s perfectly located next to a breathtaking beach and also a stone’s throw away from a convenience store. The house is private with a rooftop where we ate our homemade breakfast and dinner whilst watching sunrise and sunset. The host, Carlos - one of the nicest persons we’ve come across - welcoming and very hospitable. He’s only a message away and always replies in a matter of minutes. We returned to this accommodation after visiting the Posada Real hotel - which was very disappointing- and we decided to finish our trip over here! Apart from all of this - we rented a scooter through Carlos’ contact and we’re also very satisfied -decent price and good quality scooters. If you plan to visit Puerto Escondido- then Casa Mura is the place to stay!
