River paradise safari house - cooking class available

The place where you come face to face with Sri Lanka's breathtaking nature. Dear Prashan, many thanks for your hospitality.

Prashan is the perfect host, he made our stay really special. He organized a safari for us which was awesome - he prepared a breakfast for us that we took to the national park :) every evening, we cooked together and Prashan showed us around in his garden. All the ingredients we had for dinner come from his garden and he really made an effort to create a cozy atmosphere. We had dinner close to a fire pit and breakfast close to the river. Prashan is committed to support his community and teaches young children to speak English. We learned a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine from him and had eight different curries in two nights! We even cooked Kottu Roti together. The homestay is really close to Udawalawe national park, we would always come back and can recommend Prashan to everyone who wants to have a memorable stay in their journey 🐘🫶🏻

Everything was perfect! Sometimes, the electricity might not work (as in many other parts of Sri Lanka, so make sure to have a power bank with you :) )

It is a very nice and quiet location, secluded in the greenery, by the water. You can even swim there. And in the evening the night lanterns are super cosy. Prashan is super friendly and helpful. He goes out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He also cooks very delicious food. Helping in the kitchen and the night hike were a very nice extra. We saw chameleons! We can recommend this place 100%!

Not really a downside (on the contrary) but this place is a bit remote.

This was highlighted in our tour. Everything was good and they arranged all better than we expected . Outdoors shower on the rock , food finding lesson and night walk made us happy. We swam in the cannel. Room was clean . Food was delicious and we had dinner with fire.

We had great time with them, It was very funny and warmly welcomed us with a hot tea and then we had a small lunch in the afternoon. In evening we walked in the garden and picked some vegetables and fruits. We picked some delicious oranges. We had the dinner with a bonfire .The dinner was lit with oil lamps all around for a very beautiful and unforgettable moment with bonfires. After dinner, we walked outside with host and saw some animals. host is very friendly and kindly . We could discuss everything we had to all about curiosity we hve to know.We enjoyed our meal under the sky full of hundreds of stars. We had safari early in the morning before we leave we had tea and coffee. there are so calm and peaceful .The room was very clean and we had both attached bathroom and outdoor shower. Shower on the rock was amazing .Safari was good too. They gave us a take away breakfast along with cool towels ,water bottles and lot of fruits in the jeep. In the afternoon we didn't feel too tired and the jeep was very comfortable. Our tour guide worked very hard to show us all the animals and told us about them. The breakfast we had inside of the forest and had some soft drinks wich gave from the hotel. We booked a taxi with the hotel the day before we left and go back to Mirissa. The prices was very fair! A place to recommend!
