What a lovely little cottage by the river 🌟💗- I would highly recommend if you want a little rest before and after visiting The Udawalawe National Park. What is there not to love about this place! 🥘- We had a cooking class with Prashan and then ate under the stars alongside candle lanterns and a campfire. All food was handmade throughout our stay and was absolutely delicious. Could not fault. 🧺- We had a delicious picnic arranged in Udawalawe National Park including tables and chairs. Fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juice, sausages, sandwiches.. the list goes on. Super lovely touch. Ps the park isn’t far at all so location is ideal! 🏊- We swam in the river by the cottage. Perfect for cooling down in the sun. ✨- We went on a night walk together to find critters and wildlife fast asleep. 🏠- The cottage’s are well equipped and have everything you need. A perfect spot surrounded by nature and sugar cane fields. Hot water, a kettle, air con, fan and a hairdryer - nothing else required 🌟 🐘- Prashan also organised the Safari for us. He went above and beyond. Prashan is a fantastic host - thank you for your hospitality 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

"Best accommodation we have stayed in Sri Lanka."

10.0

We are a family who travel a lot and this is probably one of the best places we have ever stayed. Everything was amazing from the beautiful huts in the jungle, to the comfortable beds, it was very clean, the river next to us was great for splashing around with the kids, the host Prashan was so thoughtful and the cooking classes were really fun and interesting, not to mention how delicious the food was. We didn’t do the safari through the accommodation as we had already booked our safari but the other guests seemed very happy and impressed with it. Our last night there we ate dinner under the stars by the fire and watched the fireflies dancing in the trees and grass surrounding us. It was absolutely magical!

"Relaxing riverfront location."

8.0

Cute little cottage along the river. The host made every effort to provide a full experience, starting with a bonfire and dinner in the evening, provided lunch during our trip to the park, a riverside breakfast, and excellent cooking class. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. He was also able to help us with answers to all of our questions and set up the trip to the park with no problems. The property is conveniently located close to the entry to Udawalewe and the Elephant Transit home.

The cleanliness in the room needs a little work. The floors were a bit dirty, as evidenced by a lot of dead bugs, plus an abundance of living ants. Though we enjoyed the fact this property is off the beaten path, guests should be aware it is difficult to find.

"Tranquility personified. Highly recommend this hidden gem."

10.0

A peaceful escape in luscious surroundings. Our lodge was super comfortable with the softest sheets, by the river, awoken by the birds. Prashan set up this business 7 months ago and his calm persona made us feel instantly at ease. He helped arrange the best full day tour ever of Udawalawe whilst providing the most scrumptious feast. He also taught us to make sambal and rotis. We were so sad to leave and I definitely hope to return.

Nothing to fault.

"Very restful"

Wow, 5-star service! He takes such good care of guests, so friendly and helpful, and also a wonderful cook. The place is very peaceful, I stayed 3 days. There are two stand-alone huts that are brand new, even the AC units are new, bed was comfortable.

An absolute gem of a stay, a wonderful host in a really peaceful setting. The cooking class was fantastic and Prashan is a wonderful cook, he even set us up a table under the stars with our own fire (just to note the cooking class may be free but you do pay for the food 3000pp) but it's still well worth it!!

Prashan is a super nice host and an interesting person to talk to. He showed us his garden and the village nearby. The food was really good too. A calm and quiet place to stay at. Very close to the national park. Would definitely recommend. Very special experience.

"Knowledgeable, well connected, welcoming host! Simple and relaxed location. Best safari. Cooking class. Forest walk. Ri"

10.0

The property is very simple – built only a few years ago, nothing flashy, but extremely clean and comfortable. Only two little bungalows on the property, so it’s very quiet and gentle. But by far the most special thing about the place is Prashan, the host. He is skilled and attentive and interesting. He is gentle and quiet, but very happy to chat if you want to learn more about Sri Lankan economics history, politics, nature and cooking! Prashan arranged an excellent safari guide at a very fair price, with tasty breakfast picnic. We saw so many birds, elephants… and golden jackal and mongoose and crocodile. Our driver did not harass the animals by getting too close, and we were not in “jeep jams”. It was excellent. There is also a river just behind the bungalows, good for a swim. We had a wonderful cooking class, too. And a short night walk in the forest, admiring abundant fireflies and local flora. A clean, simple property and amazing host. Relaxing and quiet but with plenty to do. Highly recommended! (But not the right place for people looking for flashy five star experience.)

The bungalows have air-conditioning and a fan, which is great. But sometimes the AC cuts out when there are power cuts.
