CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS OK AND THE WHOLE PLACE HAD A DATED OPULENCE THAT WAS JUST SO RELAXING.NO TV THANK GOODNESS BUT THE WI FI WAS THERE IF NEEDED.

WOULD NOT WANT TO CHANGE A THING.DID NOT THINK THESE GEMS WERE STILL AROUND

Prachtige idyllische locatie uit een sprookjesboek. Vriendelijke host, communicatief en meedenkend. Slapen in een prachtig hemelbed met uitzicht. De plek is zo romantisch dat je fantasie op hol slaat!

Het hoort bij zo'n idyllisch en ouderwets huis, maar de badkamer is dan ook wat oud. En mist een haak om de douche aan op te hangen.

Not much, actually

There was no door lock on the bedroom. The bedroom door didn’t shut properly. We had to wedge a chair up against the door when we went to bed because we was worried someone might come in. You couldn’t lock your bedroom door when you went out. You just have to leave your stuff there. The bedroom had no TV and in the drawers of the dressing table were old letters and pictures of. I’m assuming the lady that lived in that bedroom there’s a lady that lives downstairs in a room who smokes and the whole house stunk of stale smoke. Everything smell old and stale. In the bathroom, the toilet leaks and the owners have a box to catch the water in . The other side of the bathroom is a door which leads into I’m presuming the people that live in the house is bedroom so when you’re on the toilet, you can hear the person just outside the door drying their hair so you were that close . The breakfast was downstairs all it was was a bit of sourdough left out on a table . With some milk in the fridge and some cereal. We declined breakfast as everything felt too dirty and old. I would never set foot there again . Sorry I had to tell the truth

It was like being in a Jane Austin novel ! Lovely peaceful surroundings.

Being such an old building the bathroom might not suit some guests .

Set in absolutely stunning scenery, it is the ideal place for a relaxing retreat. Friendly service and a wonderful stay

The place is like one's personal palace - well, a wing of it. time stood still. the silence and absolute darkness - only birdsong the fantastic views the huge bath tub with SUMA shampoo all those brilliant books the heated bed the bed! lovely comms & welcome Excellent breakfast, only the best - though not for hardened carnivors.

Only really reachable by car, in particular for those less mobile. This cannot be changed, really.

Felt like stepping back in time. Mixture of vintage and antique furniture with wall tapestries and oil paintings. Well stocked bookcases. Fabulous view across countryside and a four poster bed with a chaise longue to relax on. Tea and coffee available to make at any time and even a fridge and microwave on hand for use. Great fresh bread and home made organic marmalade at breakfast. Rolanda is the perfect host and her home is delightful. Note: If you're wanting to sit around to watch TV this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for an escape that's truly away from it all then this is it. There's a 'mainish' road not too far away but we couldn't hear any traffic noise - and those street lights that the towns are full of are non-existent here. If you want an idea of how gentlefolk used to live in the country houses of yesteryear, then this is an absolute must. (Whisper it though...)
