Delft Village Stay - Experience Based Local Island Stay in Jaffna

Great experience and host Tommy was excellent, very helpful and friendly, attentive to our needs with ample pre visit info and looking out for us during our stay. Getting there all part of the experience, we took our scooter which was loaded onto the ferry along with everything the island needed. Place was an oasis of peace where everyone socialised and enjoyed communal meals.

Bed a bit short

A super cosy place in which a lot of effort is put in the decorations and atmosphere! The host is very kind and helps you when necessary. Walking distance from the beach and bike rental is possible. Don’t expect a resort, but a basic and lovely camping experience.

My Dutch legs did not fit in the bed entirely, but slept well nevertheless!

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed! I could hear the sea from my tent (which had a fan, working plug sockets and was under a wooden roof) and the food was amazing. Everyday Tommy would have fun suggestions about things to do on the island and I met lots of lovely people staying here.

The hotel cancelled my booking because they said it was overbooked. But if they were overbooked then why I was able to book it? They are unable of keeping track of their booking

First of all... i cant express my feeling how joyful was my stay at this place, the owner(tommy) is a great boy with lots of idea and ambition to creat an environment that stand for village and island, tents are well maintained and food is amazing, i will definately go back to this place

Nothing i could mention

Tommy and his family and friends are great. They manage a wonderful location and it is perfect for exploring Delft island. I rented a bike and saw many of the wild horses on the southern coast of Delft. In the morning all the guests shared breakfast and in the eveneing we shared dinner. So it was easy to connect to all the other guests. It was a wonderful experience.

Really cool place on a special island!

It was very nice place. I was even upgraded with the better option. Slept in a tent. There was a mosquito tent in the bed also. So it was very useful. Even though the weather before my visit was very wet, in the tent it felt dry and comfortable. There was enough space in the tent and around. It was the feeling like living in small village. The owner was very friendly and supportive. It was amazing to meet other travelers and have meals and games together. We met there New Year’s night. Had a fire and played games till the midnight to go for the new year’s bonfire. I am very thankful. The stay was amazing and the island is also very beautifully. Real nature sanctuary. If I will be back definitely come here.

The bikes could have some upgrade 😀

Lovely and super enthusiastic host who works hard to keep his guests happy. The place was built with a lot of love. It's a camping situation but done really well. Lovely home-cooked food. The cycle rides along the coast were fantastic.

It's not easy on a remote island like this but the cycles could be in better shape. If any guest happens to be good at bike repair, bring your tools and help them with this. It would be really appreciated.
