Delft Village Stay - Experience Based Local Island Stay in Jaffna

Delft Village was a highlight of my 2 month trip to Sri Lanka because of the people. It's like walking into a friends living room upon arrival and Tommy, the owner, his staff and the guests are so welcoming. Tommy cares about every single person that comes to his property, he cares about the environment, the people and the future of his island. He provides authentic experiences by immersing you in the culture of the island and with the people who live there and call it home. Side note: While there, I got sick (not from Delft Village!) for a couple of days and was honestly grateful I was there because it felt like a little community looking out for each other. I truly wish Tommy the best for his vision with Delft Village.

Had an awesome time on Delft Island, Tommy was a wonderful host! Perfect place to relax and see the island. If you have any wishes, Tommy will help you fulfill them!

One of my favourite places on my whole 5 week trip! So worth visiting Delft to relax into island life, enjoy the atmosphere and escape the hustle & bustle of the towns. I booked 1 night but stayed for 3, even though I wish I could have stayed longer. The accommodation was comfortable, with loads of hammocks and chill spots and a really nice vibe that brings people together whoever comes through. A reflection of Tommys humble & generous spirit who works so hard & the team to make everyone feel welcome! Huge respect for them and how they have built this place piece by piece and their mission to keep it authentic, supporting locals and giving travellers a place to slow down! I borrowed a bike and cycled around the island, we tried net fishing with a BBQ on the beach, we did yoga on the platform and chatted endlessly under the palms and stars! The food was absolutely delicious and I wish Delft village stay all the blessings in the world to thrive!

Very nice host, arranges a lot of nice things to do on the island & is always there for anything. Very cosy place and nice to meet lots of people!

Would be nice to be able to zip up the tent or arrange something to close it a little at evening/night.

My stay at Delft Village was truly unforgettable. The peaceful atmosphere, untouched natural beauty, and warm hospitality made it a perfect escape from busy city life. The surroundings were clean and serene, with stunning views and a calm breeze that made every moment relaxing. The local people were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a special charm to the experience. I highly recommend Delft Village Stay to anyone looking for a quiet, authentic, and refreshing getaway.

After 2 months travelling around Sri Lanka our stay here was the best! If you like Camping athmosphare and meeting other travellers this is the one and only place not to miss in Sri Lanka. Thank you Tommy for the great time.

A lovely relaxing place where alot of attention and detail has gone into making this the perfect chillout stay whilst still keeping the rustic charm. Tommy and the staff are such lovely and welcoming people and are always ready to help and make your stay the best experience. Had some of the best food here too.

For me there was nothing I disliked.
