Green cottage Ella

Beautiful view, friendly hosts, big rooms with very comfortable bed, nice outside balcony area, tasty breakfast, and good location! Overall, a great place to stay in Ella!

The internet was cutting out and slow.

Gorgeous cottage close to the main area. Walkable but up a very steep hill. Enjoyed sitting in the porch and looking out into the bushland. Plentiful breakfast with pancakes, omelette, bread and fruits. Staff very friendly!

musty and dark room. only 1 room can be used ( it is on the top) , the rest are all musty and dark. Wifi is terrible slow.

the location is just amazing! Quiet and peaceful. The windows of our room open up to the terrace overlooking the Quiet forest with a greenery view . You're a 5min walk from the center through a shortcut along the train rails . Ella is visited for its wonderful nature and hikes. Very easy to go there sightseen from this place. The staff was amazing, always smiling and ready to help. Our stay at Green Cottage, Ella was just perfect! Highly recommended for Other guests.

Great Place

Host is great, friendly, helpful. Personally makes your breakfast. Will get you a tuk tuk, or give recommendations. Downtown Ella is walking distance, easy walk down, but steep hill coming back. The room on the property was below the street, so steep, uneven steps of different sizes and height to get there, and your carrying bags and gear down, and back up the steps. The room was basic. If you’re used to amenities, or a shower that’s not a pipe out of the side of the wall in the corner of the bathroom with a drain in the floor, then this probably isn’t your kind of place. The setting is quiet, tranquil, and if you look close you’ll see monkeys in the trees. They also like to run across your room roof “early” in the morning. The host is the best thing about this property!

Green Cottage Ella the nature with forest view is more amazing in real life! -beds are so comfy with lovely duvets -the biggest and best ,fresh homemade breakfast ever! -lovely host who own the place. always checking to make sure you have everything you need. 5 min walking time to from city center He helped me organise a taxi to tangalle a very good price. -mosquito nets , fans and Air condition provided in room. -very nice shower with warm water -10/10, even better than i'd expected. would reccomend anyone to stay here. the best place i have stayed in sri lanka. Definitely I would come back here.

The manager was friendly and lfted heavy case down steep stairs. The location is OK.. its Ella@. Breakfast simple but OK.

Booking.com description of this property is fraudulent. There is no restaurant. No oven or microwave in room. No fireplace. No garden. The room was not so clean...stained mosquito net with holes. No walk..in shower. Room extremely basic and was not cleaned between days. Nowhere to hang clothes. Security a ridiculous tiny padlock. We know Ella and you can stay in other properties that are far better and cleaner for half the price. We were fooled by the description implying some luxury that is imaginary. We feel very let down.

The location is perfect. 5 minute walk to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, tuk tuks and bakeries. The street that the hotel is on, is directly opposite the road to go to Little Adam’s Peak, Nine Arch Bridge and a short walk away from Ravana Cave & Waterfall. The room is very spacious, with a big bed and mosquito net. The bathroom is spacious and a good sized shower area. The shower has good temperature consistently. The balcony is large with two deck chairs and two stools with a big table. It is also under a canopy so it is cool and shaded. It also looks over a forest with lots of animals. On our last day we saw lots of monkeys from the balcony. The best thing about this accommodation is the handy man that works there. He does the work load of 4 people effortlessly. He is very welcoming, smiley and we definitely got the feeling that he wanted to make our stay as comfortable as possible and make sure we were happy. He made breakfast for us, each morning had different delicious foods. Breakfast was a very good portion and we felt bad we couldn’t finish it all. The hotel room and grounds are clean and very well kept.

The hotel is located up a steep hill. If you are fit and healthy this is not a problem. Just a warning. If you are use to 5 star hotels and luxury, this place isn’t for you. Anyone else this is a perfect place to stay. There’s is nothing wrong with this hotel, in 3 days we couldn’t find anything to fault, I would highly recommend.
