Mountain View Shepherds Hut

It was a perfect escape for the night. Cosy and comfortable. It was so toasty warm. Lying in bed listening to the wind and rain was just beautiful.

There was nothing not to like.

Location was great. Between the Mourne Mountains and a short walk to the sea we had a great time. The room was a little cold when we entered, but quickly warmed up when we put the heating on.

The view to the mountains could be better. If the trailer was moved to the near right corner of the paddock the view would have been better.

Linda was very helpful, with great communication and overall very professional. I would definitely recommend her as a host. Everything you may need to shower, cook a hot meal and relax is at the hut. We got bad weather for our stay but the scenery was still beautiful. The area where hut is situated is nice and peaceful. There is few cottages around hut, but it is pure quietness and privacy level is great. There was champagne & pastries waiting for us when we got in, and a lovely photocard with a written message. Met a lovely chubby black & white cat in the garden also before we left. Thanks again 😇

We stayed when storm Amy hit and don't feel anything heat's up in no time. hot water is also good.outside has a fire pit the host was very nice and friendly texting me to see if we were ok through the storm

Amazing time away!

Booked this as a surprise for my brothers 70th birthday and his wife , who have never stayed anywhere like this before, so I took a risk. They absolutely loved every single minute at The Shepherds Hut. The host Linda went above and beyond to celebrate his birthday with cake, banner , prosecco etc it was an amazing adventure. They are going to book themselves again. Linda thank you so very much for your commication, your extra special touches and for their amazing weekend, they throughly enjoyed it xx

All was amazing, there wasn't one even low passing comment. The shepherd's Hut was truly a very special, quiet, stunning scenery, walks to the beach perfect in every way place.

Great location. The beach is just a few hundred yards down the road and mountains around ten minutes away. My wife and I loved it. Good views of the Mourne Mountains. We both slept very well. Peaceful. Love the stones with little reminders of what a break away is all about. The owner was always available and answered all my messages. She is very polite and welcoming. I would definitely return and recommend. We wanted to walk the Ulster / Mourne Way in a day and used the Shepherds Hut as our "base". Pleased to say we managed to achieve our goal. If you just want to sit outside and read a good book with a glass of wine (wife) or go for a hike (me) this may be somewhere for you.

We had a great time at the Shepherds Hut. It's a very snug and romantic space for two. Also, terrific location for long walks and sightseeing.
