Watership Down Inn

The accommodation was perfect and will definitely book again when next in the area. Room was clean, comfy, exceptionally quiet. Room itself was in a small block separate from the main building.

There was one minor issue and I suspect it was isolated and far from being the norm. If you choose to stay, better to check in advance though. When checking in I was told the kitchen closed at 6pm. I went to order food at 5:45 only to find out they were only serving bar snacks, not the full A la Carte menu. I suspect this was an isolated event as a new system had been recently introduced and was having Gremlins.

The staff were very friendly, the pub was fantastic and we managed to get a roast lunch at 17.15. Lovely place to have a snack with a drink or a full meal. Perfectly situated for a walk to Bombay Sapphire distillery

Possibly better not to advertise as Whitchurch as it would be a long walk into the town itself.

We had a lovely time there. Very handy for our Gin tasting experience 10mins walk up the road. The food in the evening and for Breakfast was very good the room was quiet

The weather wasn't very good . The room was a bit warm, but OK

Had breakfast here on a previous visit and it was excellent but unfortunately this time we had to leave at 7am so couldn't stay for breakfast :( Joe on reception came out to the carpark to greet us and to see if we needed any help with our luggage. The building and garden is very attractive and we hope be return to explore this beautiful part of the country.

We had a lovely stay at The Watership Down Inn. We were able to check in early, and the team helpfully took our bags straight to our rooms. We stayed for lunch, which was very tasty, and the servers were friendly and efficient, taking our food and drink orders promptly. Our room was small and compact, but perfectly fine for a one‑night stay. The bathroom was a good size with a really lovely shower. Breakfast offered a great mix of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, and a very nice selection of hot dishes as well. It’s also a great place to stay if you’re visiting the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, as it’s only around a 15‑minute walk away. Overall, a charming place to stay and one we’d happily return to.

The only downside was that the information book in the room seemed a little outdated, and refreshing it would make the stay feel even more seamless.

Breakfast was excellent. Bed very comfortable. Tea, coffee and biscuits available in the room. Lovely countryside view. Good decor.

It would have been bettered if the following were available in our room :- a small table and one more chair. The shower room was on the small side.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Comfortable room. Food in restaurant excellent.

Creaky floor boards in bedroom although to be expected in an older property.

Perfectly clean, perfectly positioned. All in all a lovely property. Dinner was lovely
