Spacious 3-Bed Home in York Free Parking Sleeps 5

The property is in a quiet location and initially makes a good first impression; however, it unfortunately does not live up to how it is presented online. The listing photos appear to be out of date and do not reflect the current condition of the property. The outdoor space, which was a key reason for choosing this property, was particularly disappointing. The patio area was overgrown with weeds and leaves, the furniture was rusty, and the rattan seating had no cushions, making it unusable. The lawn was also overgrown and poorly maintained, and there was a loose step between the patio and lawn which felt unsafe. Inside, the standard of cleanliness and maintenance was below expectations. The bifold windows were dirty on the inside, the main sofa had a ripped cushion and noticeable staining, and the stair carpet was also stained. There were signs of neglect, such as empty picture frames in the kitchen and a canvas still in its packaging left leaning against the fireplace. In the twin bedroom, the window had a failed double-glazed unit, meaning it was misted and you could not see out. The washing machine was also unusable as it contained dirty water. Overall, the property did not match its advertised standard, and had I been aware of these issues beforehand, I would not have booked it. I have raised my complaint with the host who has simply advised me to escalate to Booking,com

Lovely house plenty of space and good location

Grass was very long, outside table hadn’t been cleaned and there was no access to the cushions for the outside furniture. It was a lovely sunny day so we wanted to enjoy the garden as advertised in the pictures. Did message host when arrived but no response. No welcome book Glass was broken , not enough plates for 5 people and towels were well worn.

We did not like the property, and booked into alternative accommodation in the area. We're still waiting for a full refund from booking.com

We travelled 3 hours to get to the property and when we got there we were shocked to find the property was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The bedding was not changed and there were wet towels in the shower and bedroom floor. We arrived around 9pm and when we contacted the host about the issue there was no response. Eventually we left as we felt we couldn't stay in unhygienic conditions with 2 very young children. We incurred the additional cost of looking for a hotel very late at night. When Chloe eventually called us back she was very rude about the matter and appeared not to be bothered. It was only after we reported the issue to booking.com and they offered alternative solutions but by then we were booked into a hotel. We are still waiting for a full refund for this booking and would not encourage anyone else to have the same experience we did with this host. We definitely will not book again.

It could do with a few more pillows and some pictures on the walls instead of empty frames

Well equipped and spacious house. Good parking. Nice garden. Great space for a reasonable price. Communication with host was easy.

One of the kitchen lights was flickering.

The house is absolutely beautiful and very nice and cozy.

Nice place, took a bit longer to warm up but once it did everything was excellent. Nice stove as well. 2 hairdryer in main bedroom, good pressure shower.

Bed mattresses quite uncomfortable to sleep on, couch in the living room shabby, out of shape, and starting to break. Fridge was very dirty, with frozen blood in the freezer, broken missing shelf. The dishwasher bottom drawer had broken/ missing wheels so it was almost impossible to use it. The yard was unusable also.
