Spacious 3-Bed Home in York Free Parking Sleeps 5

Good location, clean

The location is great for visiting friends and family in the north of York. It is also very convenient if you’re going to York Stadium at Monks Cross. There is plenty of space for 5 people and the off road parking is great. The property is nicely presented with modern fixtures and fittings.

This property has the potential to be absolutely exceptional but there are a few niggles that were frustrating and took the edge off. These would be very easily rectified and if addressed would mean this property would be great. The property isn’t heated when vacant, but it would’ve been nice for the heating to have been turned on a couple of hours before we arrived to take the edge off. The house was 9oC when we arrived and the Nest thermostat wasn’t charged to set the central heating temperature so it took a while to heat up the house. The remote controls for the TV in the front room, Sky box and XBox in the family room were all not working (presumably out of batteries and one was heavily taped so we didn’t want to pull that off to replace the batteries). There were a few things not provided like no airer to dry clothes indoors, no oven gloves/ kitchen towel to take things out of the oven, and only two tea spoons for a house for five! We sent a message via Booking.com but as we stayed over Christmas understandably the owners were presumably busy with their family. Finally, just to note, the mattresses are very very soft on all the beds. This is clearly personal preference but worth noting if you normally sleep on a firmer mattress. All in all, a few minor additions to the house and checks done at changeovers could result in a really great property.

Great, quiet location, open plan so we could all be together. Nice bedrooms. Extra heaters to make cozy if needed. Lovely comfy, modern, yet cozy decor that’s easily kept clean, comfy beds. Good checking process.

Freezing when we entered as no heating on, had to find it to turn on. No curtains/blinds downstairs so took hours to heat up. Dishwasher a little awkward as wheel broken on basket so kept falling off runners. Curtains in main bedroom don’t fit window (don’t meet) so don’t shut out light in morning.

Property was great location, for us, the kitchen area was our group time, loads of space. Great chill out area, quiet warm cosy I could just keep continuing. Loved it thank you so much. Definitely recommend. Xx
