Bessie May Cottage

Perfectly located to explore the new forest and 5 minutes drive from the Beaulieu Motor Museum. The Cottage is spacious and cosy with all the facilities you could possibly need, and lots of thoughtful extras. As we were traveling with our 4 year old the private garden was perfect to run around in. Anne is a wonderful host and made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay.

Nothing not to like

Anne met us as we arrived with a lovely greeting and showed us in to explained about all the things she had supplied, bread milk butter home made jam eggs and some beautiful brownies . O and a bottle of wine

Nothing really

The host left some delicious homemade jams, sourdough bread, butter, freshly laid eggs from farm and a selection of teas and coffee. We really enjoyed a surprise bottle of fizz from the fridge with a slice of homemade chocolate brownie.

Perhaps a cheese grater

Great location. Clean and spacious. Very helpful owner who provided a generous welcome pack.

Even better if there was a separate shower

This is a nicely converted stables on the road from Beaulieu, one of the most beautiful places in the New Forest. Quaint and odd but very compfortable and well provisioned. The hostess Anne has a few chickens, who appreciate a bit of bread, there are goldfinches in the trees overhead and horses grazing the driveway, idealic. Anne supplied the cottage with milk, butter, eggs, coffee, tea, homemade cake and sourdough bread as well as a Prosecco bottle in the fridge, well beyond the pale but greatly appreciated! You can walk for miles across the Beaulieu estate from the door.

A beautiful location in within the Beaulieu Estate in the New Forest, The drive to the property from Lymington is particularly note worthy. There is a lockbox for the key at the doorway should the owner Anne, charming by the way, not be there to show you round. Anns e-mails the code the day before you visit. Some goodies are in the fully equipped kitchen, a loaf of local sour-dough with butter and home made jam, some of Anne's home made brownies - (some of the best I have ever had), fresh eggs, form the homes chickens, a bottle of wine in the fridge, and fresh coffee ( espresso and filter) - I needed nothing more. Nothing! there is simply nothing not to like

Our stay at Bessie May Cottage was wonderful and we highly recommend it. We were met by Anne, who is a charming host and rightly proud of the beautiful cottage she has created. The towels and bedlinen were of high quality, and the kitchen contained everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed unwinding in the sunny garden drinking the fizz that Anne kindly left in the fridge for us (there were also home made brownies, eggs from her chickens, local sourdough bread and butter). The surrounding open countryside is very special, watch out for cows and ponies all over the roads!

Wow! What a cottage.....much nicer than we expected, so beautiful, such amazing location, Anne was super helpful. Stunning garden spot.
