Bessie May Cottage

Anne was a lovely host, close by if you needed anything but far enough that the cottage is very private. Lovely eggs from her happy little chickens. Close to Beaulieu which is a beautiful village with great shops. The deli was amazing. Coffee and breakfast in the bakehouse was good as well.

Only tiny annoyance was the shower is a hand held one in the bath but we managed!

Our stay at this charming, cozy cottage was truly delightful! The beautifully decorated interior, complete with fresh flowers, made us feel instantly welcome. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the thoughtful extras - fresh eggs, homemade bread and jam, brownies, and a bottle of Prosecco - were such a lovely touch. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the peaceful, quiet surroundings made for a perfect retreat. Anne, the owner, was exceptionally warm and hospitable, making us feel right at home. We also enjoyed the company of the chickens roaming in the garden. With plenty to explore nearby, including Hurst Castle and Beaulieu village, this cottage is an absolute gem. Highly recommended!

Comfy bed, towels… everything really. Really helpful and tasty provisions for arrival. Hosts very kind and welcoming which made it extra special. The hilarious hens!

It was great that Anne left homemade jams ,brownies ,fresh sour dough bread for us on arrival . How very welcoming ,thoughtful and lovely . The accommodation was like a home from home ,very tasteful decor .

Everything. It’s was lovely and so were the owners. My 5 year old grandson had a wonderful time

A lovely bolthole to explore the New Forest from, with some wonderful extras in the kitchen on arrival.

The property is very well maintained and has everything you may need. The farm itself is very lovely and beautiful. We enjoyed having breakfast outside and listening to the birds. Anne, the host, is very kind, helpful and friendly. She showed us around, showed chickens to my kids who loved it. Anne also provided courtesy farm eggs, homemade jam and brownies that were delicious. Definitely coming again!

Cottage was exactly as pictured and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable with luxury bed linen, fluffy towels and ample toiletries. Superbly hosted by Anne, who met us on arrival and was available for anything we needed. Amazing welcome treats consisting of wine, home made brownies and jams, together with fresh eggs from the chickens, sourdough loaf from local bakers, milk, butter, teabags and a choice of ground coffee. My son enjoyed spending time with the chickens and on the swing in the expansive gardens.
