Bessie May cottage is a gorgeous, characterful property filled with elegance and warmth. It has two sets of doors opening out onto the stunning garden area where there are hidden gems everywhere. Our little boys had the best of times running around the vast garden, playing on the swing and greeting the chickens. We enjoyed wine whilst watching the sun go down. Home made marmalade, quince jelly and sourdough as well as bubbles and brownie and knocks on the door for cheesecake were wonderful. And finally .. fresh white towels. Pure crisp cotton sheets, fresh flowers and classy throws to curl up in were all beautiful touches. Thank you Anne.

That there wasn’t availability to stay longer.

Absolutely perfect spot for my daughter and I to stay whilst exploring the New Forest! The cottage is beautiful, very comfortable with lovely bed linen and everything we could possibly need for our stay. Anne made us so welcome and provided some delicious treats, including sourdough bread, homemade jams, brownies and prosecco!! Anne, thank you so much for making our mini break so special. We will be back!

We have just had a fabulous weekend staying at Bessie May Cottage, the cottage had everything we needed including fresh bread, eggs, home made jam and a bottle of prosecco on our arrival. Our host Anne greeted us and was extremely helpful and nothing was too much bother for her.

Truly wonderful little mini break. The cottage is stunning, with the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of. Anne and her son Jack were the most delightful hosts. Genuinely couldn't recommend a stay here highly enough. Can't wait to come back.

From being greeted by Ann to the very comfortable accommodation, the whole thing contributed to a relaxing few days. Everything had been thought of with th cottage, well equipped with little extras like local produce, milk, eggs, bread, butter and even a lovely bottle of wine 😊. Ann was informative about the local area including local eateries.

Everything was great

What a lovely cottage in a lovely location. Well equiped, spacious and comfortable, a self-catering gem, but also with enough pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area if you don't feel like cooking. The cottage itself just has this lovely homely feeling about it, helped by the lovely potted flowering plants located around the cottage. Anne, our host was extremely helpful and friendly. Upon arrival, we found locally baked bread, chocolate brownies and fresh eggs from the farm in the kitchen. We had a most relaxing time and can definitely recommend Bessie May Cottage. As much as I love exploring the New Forest, I can also just see myself lazing about the cottage and relaxing.
