Gion Crystal Hotel

It said 4 star and it is far from being 4 star. It feels maximum 3 stars. The bathroom was very small. All made of cheap plastic including the floor. Feels like a bathroom on a boat. Breakfast was the most basic you can ever think of.

Very big rooms comparing Japan room sizes. Comfortable bed, friendly staff.

Bed was very stiff

They were strict with checking at 4 pm even though the room was ready and then they forced check out at 10am. They mentioned breakfast was included but when we came down at 9 they said it’s past the time. There was a lady that let us grab a quick bit. They didn’t mention that breakfast was from 7-9

Location was excellent! Small boutique hotel right by the main sights and easy access to metro. Room size was a bit larger than we experienced in Tokyo so that was a plus. Basic but clean!

The bathroom was way too small for even 1 person. Was like a manufactured pre-fab box with a very low ceiling g compared to the room. Free Breakfast was very limited but we appreciated the coffee.

We absolutely loved staying here. It’s such a great location! Close to the geisha district and tourist hotspots! The food at the hotel was delicious and the staff were so lovely! We wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again or recommending it to anyone! Room was the biggest we had on our travels (could have both our suitcases opened on the floor) and the beds/pillows were on the comfier side for Japanese accomodation.

Everything was perfect

Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, the location is amazing couldn’t be any better, and the room was big enough for us to freely move around (not common in Japanese standards) and comfortable. Really liked the place!
