Captain Cook Riverside Walk

The cottage is in a lovely location by the river and near the base of the Viaduct. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and the downstairs living / dining / kitchen area feels cosy and spacious. Everything was very clean throughout.

The main bedroom is very small, making it awkward to get in and out of bed on one side. The second point is a temporary one: the cottage appeared to be freshly painted when we stayed in March, and the smell of gloss paint was quite strong upstairs resulting in the need to open windows frequently despite it being cold outside. In my opinion, the cottage should have been aired for a week or so after painting before taking guests.

Location was great, nice and peaceful

Double bed wasn’t the most comfortable, no clothes airer to dry washing on.

Beautiful location right by the river and only a mile walk along the cinder track into Whitby. Very peaceful area, lots of wildlife to be seen.

Just stayed for 3 nights & had a lovely stay. We loved the accommodation & location.Would definitely recommend & would love to return 😊

Quiet location next to the river away from the hustle and bustle. Town was accessible by taxi for around £9.00. Spacious accommodation on two floors with a good kitchen and great amenities.

Lovely little cottage with everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed watching the trains go past and walking into Whitby on the Cinder Track. Thank you for a great holiday!

The cottage was cosy, clean and welcoming. The location was perfect for us as we were watching family bungee jumping from the viaduct outside the front door. Whitby was only a 5 minute drive away or you could walk along the viaduct down to the town.
